The Star Ocean series is one I’ve never really delved too deeply into, personally. But I have had a nerd love affair with the Tales of series from Namco Bandai. Turns out, Star Ocean developer Tri-Ace was formed by the guys who made the original Tales of Phantasia. So it now makes a whole lot of sense that I’m finding myself engaged by Star Ocean.

This year, the Star Ocean series celebrates its twentieth anniversary with the release of its fifth game, Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness. This week, publisher Square Enix invited members of the press to preview the game's less cutscene-heavy approach to storytelling and combat, an approach that thus far, appears to be working.

Slated to start at 4:00 pm Pacific / 7:00 pm Eastern, Square will reveal more about the main characters and answering player questions about the title that will be released in NA on June 28th and in the EU on July 1st.
The PlayStation Blog has been updated with the announcement that Star Ocean 5: Integrity and Faithlessness will be released for PlayStation 4 in Europe on July 1, 2016. The North American release was previously announced for June 28th and last week's Japanese release took place on March 31st.
Fans of Square Enix will want to take note of the June 28th release date for the PlayStation 4 title, Star Ocean: Integrity & Faithlessness. The game is now available for preorder from the Square Enix Online Store for $59.99, a 'day one' edition that features a number of in-game items and perks.
