Forsaken World: Review - Are Aesthetics Enough?
In our latest review, MMORPG.com's CatMo takes a look at Perfect World Entertainment's Forsaken World. Forsaken World brings high fantasy to PWE's stable of free to play MMOs and gorgeous graphics to boot. But are aesthetics enough to score big with players?

Forsaken World is a visually stunning game, but tends to lack a lot in terms of content. For the player that enjoys role play and instances, this might be right up their alley. But for the player that likes unique quests and casual play, interest may fall off fast. Is it a game worth trying? Sure, but don't expect too much or it's likely you'll be disappointed.

Guild Wars 2: PvP is Revealed!
ArenaNet has pulled back the curtain on PVP in Guild Wars 2 and our own Garrett Fuller has some thoughts on the way the game's going to let players bash each other's heads in.

Finally! Guild Wars 2 is starting to open the gate on the PvP gameplay that we have wanted to hear about for the last well... entire time this game's been announced. ArenaNet continues to work wonders with their upcoming MMO and players can now check out some of the PvP ideas that are hatching in ArenaNet's back rooms. The first press release focuses on two forms of PvP which are Hot Join and Tournament Play. These pick up style games will give players separate areas to battle it out and prove their own individual worth. There is a slight mention on World PvP, but no official information has been given yet. For now, I'm sure there's plenty to look at in regards to the Hot Join and Tournament style games.

Game of the Week

FireFall is an upcoming free-to-play post-apocalyptic MMO FPS developed by Red 5 Studios. Set 200 years in the future, Earth has been destroyed by an energy storm called 'The Melding,' which occurred as a result of the overuse of Crystite, a source of energy discovered by humans that ended up replacing all forms of energy on Earth.

'The Melding' destroyed much of Earth and mutated the Earth's terrain and lifeforms. The only habitable place left is, oddly enough, within the eye of the storm, where what's left of humanity attempt to survive.

Players in FireFall take on the role as one of these surviving humans and are tasked with ridding Earth of the 'The Melding,' while also battling back the 'Chosen,' a new race spawned of the storm itself.

Gameplay involves first person or third person combat in an open-world environment, and includes RPG mechanics such as loot, leveling up, and other forms of progression. Four classes, the Engineer, Assault, Recon, and Medic, have been announced so far.

FireFall is currently in beta testing, with the program set to expand significantly following this year's PAX Prime. The official release date is set for December, 2011.
