Conquer Online: The iPad Review
Conquer Online is one of the first 'traditional' MMOs to make the leap from PC to iPad. In our latest review, we take a look at the iPad version of Conquer Online to see how it measures up and how well it made the transition.

Conquer Online on the iPad is a casual mobile MMO. Interaction is simple. Want to go somewhere? Tap on the screen. See a Mob or a player you want to attack? Tap on it. Harvest something? Tap on it. The tutorial system is part of the quest system and you can access the features that you want to try at any time, after you've learned how to travel and to fight. While not for everyone, all in all, it's a pretty nice package. There's plenty of room for improvement, but more importantly, plenty of potential to grow.

The Secret World: Dev Journal: Deck Templates
The Secret World is going to feature one of the most complex abilities systems in any MMO to date. The dev team has partnered with MMORPG.com to unleash new information about the pre-made "deck templates" that will help players navigate the complexities.

The Secret World does away with classes and levels to let players develop any combination of abilities they choose. They can learn any out of the five hundred found in the Ability Wheel, to create exactly the type of character they want.

This system offers great freedom and depth, but may initially seem be a bit daunting for some. For those who may want a little guidance, we have developed the deck template system.

Game of the Week

Anarchy Online is a free-to-play sci fi MMORPG set 30,000 years in the future, on the desert world of Rubi-Ka. Players become a new colonist to Rubi-Ka, and must join one of three factions: Omni-Tek, The Clans, and a neutral faction. Since its launch in 2001, AO has built up a solid base of features, including having a level cap of 220, 4 humanoid breeds, 14 Professions, and 83 skills to choose from, along with being free to play.

Anarchy Online was the first sci fi MMORPG, and introduced instances to the genre. AO has a strong backstory, but remains sandbox by allowing players to choose how they play their characters, and for what reasons. Both solo and team play are well supported, as well as PvE, PvP, and roleplaying. A substantial game master group exists, called the Advisors of Rubi-Ka (ARK), who offer in game help to players, write and create (roleplaying) game events, and greet and assist new players.

AO has released 5 expansion since initial launch: Notum Wars (2002), Shadowlands (2003), Alien Invasion (2004), Lost Eden (2006), and Legacy of the Xan (2009). The graphics engine is currently undergoing an overhaul, changing from an older Dreamworld engine version to the newer version used in Age of Conan.
