The wait is (almost) over. At this year's Eurogamer Expo, BioWare announced that Star Wars: The Old Republic will be launching in North America on December 20, 2011.

Vanguard: Saga of Heroes Re-Review: It's a Gem of a Game
In our continuing effort to look at games that are considered to be 'aging' yet are still healthy and viable, MMORPG.com's Som Pourfarzaneh takes another look at Vanguard in our re-review. Som opines that Vanguard: Saga of Heroes is a 'gem of a game that could use a little developer love'.

Vanguard has certainly come a very long way from its rocky launch, and is a very deep PvE game that fans of the fantasy MMORPG genre should check out. We still think it could benefit from some more dev love, an aggressive marketing push, and a F2P makeover (or even just an endless Isle of Dawn trial option), but as it stands, the game works a lot better than it used to and can really suck you into its immersive world. If you've been away for a while, or have yet to try it, go for it. You can make your own boat!

MMORPG.com New York Comic-Con Panel Line Up!
MMORPG.com staff members will be on hand during next month's New York Comicon and will be working with some of the industry giants during several exciting panels. We've got the lowdown on what panels we will be hosting and who will be joining us.

October brings New York Comicon to the forefront and as always we have insane MMO panels this year for fans. MMORPG.com and New York Comicon have worked together to put in the best line up of upcoming MMOs. Here is a list of panels at this year's New York Comicon all of which are running on Friday, Oct. 14th. These are all the events we're co-hosting with developers, and I can guarantee you won't want to miss a single moment. Game of the Week

This week's Game of the Week is Bioware's upcoming MMORPG, Star Wars: The Old Republic, and why not? After all, the upcoming Star Wars MMO (the second, historically), is one of the most talked about upcoming games not only within the MMO genre, but in all of gaming.

With Bioware's reputation as a first class developer of single player RPGs, many video gamers find themselves wondering how the company will handle the challenge presented in the realm of multiplayer games.

With more and more information being leaked out about this game all the time, the opinions are coming in from all sides with players weighing in. Some would like to see the game more closely resemble the sandbox style of the original Star Wars Galaxies while others are looking forward to a near perfect continuation of Bioware's success with their previous Knights of the Old Republic title.

As information leans us more toward the latter than the former, it will be interesting to see what players think as this game comes closer and closer to launch.

That launch is now coming closer into view as well, as BioWare has nailed down December 20, 2011 as the game's launch date. Mark your calendars!
