| MMORPG.com: | Give us some background on the new DLC – Golems of Amgarrak. |
| Rob: | Golems of Amgarrak is the next installment of downloadable content (DLC) for our hit dark fantasy title, Dragon Age: Origins. It will be releasing simultaneously for $5 on the Playstation Network and for 400 points on the PC and in the X360 Marketplace. Designed with our hardcore players in mind, it sends the player on an extremely challenging journey into the Deep Roads to uncover the lost secrets of the dwarves. |
| Ferret: | Rob isn’t joking. Golems is seriously tough. If you played through Origins and thought it couldn’t keep up with your mad skills, then this is the DLC for you. You face a brand new boss who has more than a few tricks up his sleeve, and unless you bring your A-game you won’t last long. Getting the hardest achievement for this DLC is a real badge of honor. Only a handful of BioWarians managed that accomplishment. Although combat is front and center, Golems of Amgarrak has a tricky puzzle to solve, new characters to talk with and get to know, and an engaging story. All the things you’d expect from Dragon Age. You also can import your character from Origins or Awakening, so you can have further adventures with your favorite hero. By playing Golems of Amgarrak you can unlock several reward items that show up in Origins or Awakening. It’s a good time to be a Grey Warden! |
| MMORPG.com: | Does this adventure give some further lore into the Dwarf background? |
| Ferret: | The dwarves really had their glory days centuries ago. Before the First Blight, dwarves had several thriving kingdoms and the deep roads were underground highways which ran all throughout Thedas. The darkspawn hit the dwarves hard – harder than anyone. When things were their darkest, only Paragon Caridin’s discovery of golems saved the last kingdom of Orzammar from utter annihilation. But after a few short years of golem production, Caridin vanished. And he took his secret of golem manufacturing with him. Since then the dwarves made many attempts to rediscover Caridin’s lost art of creating golems. There is an old legend – a sort of dwarvish fairy tale – that in a secret laboratory, far in the deep roads, new golems were made. The legend of Amgarrak. Throughout the DLC you’ll learn more about Amgarrak and its haunting story. |
|
| |
| MMORPG.com: | Talk about the golems in the game, how do they play into the storyline? |
| Rob: | Some secrets are best discovered on one’s own. From a storytelling perspective, however, golems often serve as a mirror that we hold up to the player and to the other characters in the game, both living and dead. Golems are a blank slate, neither good nor evil, but with great potential for either, depending upon the method and their crafting and the task to which they are put. |
| Ferret: | If legends of Amgarrak are to be believed, the dwarven smiths found new techniques of modifying old golems, all in an effort to make the next generation of golems. Expeditions sent on far patrols in the deep roads occasionally come across strange golems doing amazing things. Some say that perhaps it was left over golem from the Legion of Steel. But others whisper, “Amgarrak.” Certainly if anyone managed to find the Halls of Amgarrak, they should expect some amazing things. |
|
| |
| MMORPG.com: | How involved is the Blight in this storyline? They are not mentioned in the trailer, yet we do see some serious looking demons. |
| Rob: | The Blight is a constant threat, particularly in this, the deepest, darkest corners of the Deep Roads. Again, we want to emphasize that the Golems of Amgarrak is a very challenging quest and not for the faint of heart, particularly when played on Hard or Nightmare difficulty. As for the secret horrors at which the trailer hints, we’ll leave that for only our bravest of players to discover. |
| MMORPG.com: | Will there be new adventurers available to join you on this quest? |
| Rob: | Yes, you have come to Orzammar at the request of Jerrik Dace. Jerrik’s brother led an expedition into the Deep Roads to find Amgarrak and the long-lost secrets of golem construction. The rediscovery of such a method would bring great wealth, power and prestige to House Dace but the expedition has not returned and is now feared lost. Jerrik, along with his trusty bronto, Snug, will be joining you in the search for his missing brother. You will find other unexpected companions as you continue on the journey and will need all the help that you can get. |
| Ferret: | If you ever asked, “I wonder what a dwarven ranger who never went to outside world would summon?” Then the answer is “Snug”. Snug’s a great companion and seriously tough. Unlike many nobles (yes, I’m looking at you House Aeducan), Jerrik seems more concerned about his brother’s welfare than finding Amgarrak. He’s also a hero in his own right, providing excellent support to your character. His dual-wielding skills will be essential to surviving the Golems of Amgarrak. And, as Rob said, there are others to find during the course of your adventure. |

Link is no good, keep bouncing back to homepage :)
Not an MMO, yet...newsworthy? Really?
Yeah, you're right, covering one of the most popular RPGs released in recent memory probably isn't worth mentioning here, even if Dragon Age WAS a genre defining title and even if the company that made it has a major MMO in the works. I don't know why anyone would be interested in this.
We don't list the game, we just occasionally and rarely write about it. Simmer down.
Also, as DLC, and Biowares last few DLC for this game, will it be more than a 2 hour romp for the money?
Wonderful game...I am glad to hear of more DLC!
I like Dragon Age but again ,NOT a MMO.
So what? Its an extrememly popular game made by a company with a huge MMO in the works. So..... yeah.
They've been doing that and it gets annoying lol. That time could have been spent doing interviews and writing up an article on an MMO. Having 3 news pieces on the front page talking about non MMO's gets aggravating, if I wanted info on SC, Dragon Age, or 38 Studios PC RPG (The non MMO) I can check any number of other sites or even simply look in my email lol. If MMORPG.com wants to focus on non MMO's there becomes less of a reason for me to stop by this site lol.
And yeah, I understand Stradden. But seriously there are news articles about 3 non MMO's on the front. 3 out of 8 on your little highlight reel lol. 2 are discussing random crud that most people already know such as why MMO's take so long and people already have their opinions about whats so good and bad about hardcore. Which leaves you with 3 relevant pieces lol.
3 actual MMO News related articles. GW2, Tera and SW:TOR. There are plenty of MMO's that could have been reviewed and plenty of interviews that could have been done. There are actually changes and upcoming changes that could have been talked about.
Unless your wallets hurting there's no reason to pump out non mmo news, interviews, reviews and such that bumps, replaces or comes at the cost of some MMO related piece.
You guys actually really got me disappointed with the 38 Studious: Reckoning piece. I was all hyped until it turned out to be just an RPG for the PC and not an MMO. Yet, there is almost no info about the MMO lol. Bring us news on the Offline PC RPG and still leave us high and dry on the MMO. Seems off doesn't it lol.
Geez you guys! It is ONE article amongst many that are put up on this page. People will get upset over the stupidest things.
I guess I will go complain at a dealership that also sells motorcycles along with cars. I came to see cars... not motorcycles. Geez.. what are they thinking?
Apparently people refuse to see that part.
Is this game an mmorpg?? If it is im sorry for asking..but if its not then WTF IS IT DOING HERE??
Thanks for reply.
ok, wow.
First of all, the Starcraft featurette very clearly states that it's pointing to an article on our sister site, another site in this network, for which it is relevant. Next, if you can't see the point of talking about the 38 Studios RPG in the context of the fact that it is set in the same world as their MMO, thus giving us a deeper understanding of what the MMO is about, I can't help you. We didn't CHOOSE not to talk more about the MMO. That information simply isn't available at this time, so we present what we have.
As for the editorials... We've been doing those for a long time. They're very popular and very relevant. We're not going to stop producing them. If you don't like them, don't read them. We also have plenty of game specific articles, they just aren't necessarily in the featurette slider. Try checking out the rest of the page before telling us that you have all of the answers.
So no, it doesn't seem "off" to me, nor to the tens of thousands of people who read the articles that you've decided shouldn't be here. Though I have to say that I really do appreciate your insights into how to do a job that I've been doing for quite some time now. It's always good to hear from someone more knowledgeable and with more experience.
As I said they are 3 on the front page at the moment. SC2, Dragon Age and 38 Studios RPG.
This isn't like going to the car dealership thats selling motorcycles. Bad analogy.
This is like flipping on your local news and seeing 25 minutes filled with news from another state that has nothing to do with you, 10 minutes of fluff pieces that have little relevance and 25 minutes of news that actually concerns you. So in total that hour you spent watching the news you only received about 25 minutes worth of news.
less and less reasons for me to keep coming back here. It doesn't matter if the damn game is popular or the developer is making an mmo. It's not news about the mmo. The game isn't even online. Guess I must have mistaken what MMORPG meant.
As the grayghost said, you could have used that space and time for actual mmo news and features instead of trying to expand into something that every other gaming site already does.
Seriously though people, quit acting like the end of the world is coming. MMORPG.com posts soo many articles on MMOs, these couple of articles on RTS games and non MMOs is not really an issue. Read the article, if you dont like Dragon Age, then dont even click on the link, go about your merry day and read the other articles on this site.
No need to get your panties in a bunch over such a MINOR ISSUE, if it even is an issue.
I for one liked the article and the interview, kudos.
Sheesh, I think you all need to get out more... no wonder online communities are going to shit!
Maybe the analogy wasnt all that great. Ok.. maybe it was pretty cheesy. Anyway, this is a pretty piddly thing to get all worked up about. MMORPG still makes lots of articles about MMO's, and things about MMO's. Getting mad at something like this is pretty sad.
The news analogy dosent work either. There is TONS of worthless crap on the news all the time that dosen't necessarily affect of have to do with anyone, much less the one that tuned in to watch the news.
Nah, not really mad. More or less I was simply prompted to reply when I saw Stradens reply elocke. I felt a need to explain why some may not view this in the best light. Hopefully you do realize that people can have a discussion and disagree with something without being mad. This truly would be a silly thing to get emotional about.
And yes, the news analogy fits.
Ok man, whatever lol. I dont really need to comment further anyway. You already got owned by stradden in this thread anyway. Good day sir!
To Stradden, thank you for the article. I love the game and appreciate news on it. Even if its not an MMO lol.
G`day mates ...
Just wanted too toss in my 2 cents ...
Sorry guys, but GreyGhost is right ... i come to this site to read up on MMORPG ... NOT SINGLE PLAYER GAMES..( i dont care how good it was either)
Their are a ton of sites for single player games ..
Guess im going to have to find another site that actually focus on MMORPG`s ..
Too bad... cheers guys
I'm not too bothered about having 1 or 2 articles not directly related to mmo's, but Stradden doesn't exactly have a good attitude when responding to posts no need to get so offended, very un-professional.
I don't know how genre defining it was considering their basically trashing DA and making ME 2 with swords and magic for DA 2. In order to a define a genre, you would actually have to stick with your own design and others do something similar to what you put out as well.
Unfortunately Stradden did kind of set the tone to be pretty harsh here. I understand it can get frustrating to have similar replies to these kind of articles all the time. The fact that we see this non-mmo complaint all the time should, at the very least, just create an expectation we'll see non-mmo complaints all the time, so it's nothing to get excited about from the other side either.
Must say i'm pretty sick of seeing DLC for this game.. I bought Awakening even though it's storyline should have been in the original game to begin with.. (this same DLC trend for all games is getting on my nerves) and that was it, won't be getting anymore of my money until DA2!
Ok, I didn't mean for a crapstorm of negativity to form around my teenie little comment, it's just that. Besides the fact that I found Dragon Age abysmally boring, the fact that the news about 38 Studios moving to Rhode Island hasn't been posted but this little news item about a single player RPG, that is only popular because it seems "they" have stopped making them like they used to, quality and quantity wise, is where my SMALL complaint stems from.
That's all. Lets just focus more on MMOs. I get Game Informer or Gamespot articles for non MMO games. I prefer this site over theirs as MMORPGS are the BEST type of game out there, for me personally.
why you guys are complaining about a silly thing like this, and not complaining about the way they make dragon age to milky more money, they did sell the game with at least 3 DLC done just for us to buy (and I will not pay for then), if they want to sell expansions later? fine but at least make it worth, not this silly money grab thing,
the sad part is people will pay for that...(even sad to fight over a silly thing like a news just because its not a mmo)
Now that's just a bit antagonistic. You are assuming you know the poster's job or work history. I understand you are miffed, but good negative criticism from some members is not a HORRIBLE thing, nor personal.
Don't let the doorknob hit ya....well you get the drift. If a few articles bother you that much then quite honestly there is no where that will please you because you have too narrow of a thought process. I'm sorry, but for anyone who lets little articles like this bother them to the extent that they will abandon a site then they simply can never be fully pleased. And in truth there is no way 'everyone' will be pleased with everything done. A majority of folks do not care about these articles being posted here and many appreciate them as well.
And guys really need to get off the 'They should be covering mmorpg news!' Umm...they do. Do you think there is news on the noteworthy mmorpg's every freaking second of every second day. One person brought up the fact a mmo company moved to Rhode Island....who gives a f***! How the heck is that important and worth reading? Do you guys want to know that Bill in the game designing department stubbed his toe on his desk making him miss out on two minutes of work too? Sheesh people...freaking relax *laughs*
And by the way Straden...I like your response and it was needed because some of these guys are a bit ridiculous in what gets their panties in a bunch. Thanks for the article and the expanded coverage. Nicely done.
If people seriously want to leave the site or stop reading mmorpg.com because of articles like this, then let them. Its not different from a child stomping their feet when they dont get what they want and then threatening "im gonna run away!".
My brother tried, that, moms and pops packed a bag for him and told him get to steppin.
This forum needs an ignore option. If you don't like my post ignore me. If I don't like your post, I can ignore you too. :D Then everyone is happy. Just like chat in our MMOs. Or, I know, a rating system. Since some people like to talk out of their...anyway, enough said.
I love the site, just every now and then I question the purpose of certain articles. That's all. Keep up the good work. oh,and as a wise succesful businessman, Gordon Ramsay says, "take the negative comments from customers above all else" and work on those. Food for thought.
...pun intended...
your kidding, amimright?
Despite enjoying the game, I must agree. DA was pretty much the same mechanics as NWN/2, just more refined to make it console friendly :)
For real.
It's just in the news section, you don't have to read it or respond to it. A lot of you are just arguing for an argument. Some people would argue that the world is not round or the sky is not blue just to be combative.
REV UP THOSE HYPE ENGINES
Piss on DLC.
Im still waiting for my happy ending with Morrigan. :( Now that DA2 is a completely different story in a different timeline ... it better come in a DLC or expansion!
Tens of thousands? Hyperbole is cool for those 'heat'em up' political sites, but for journalism it always seems a bit off.
Now protect your decisions how so ever you wish, but exaggeration rarely ever helped a cause.
Haha, I know what you mean.
She had one of the more interesting endings, and it really led you to believe it wasn't going to end there. Even an endgame dialog choice is something like "Q:so what are you going to do now?" "A:I'm going to go find Morrigan" /roll credits.
I want to know what happened to my darkspawn love child damnit! xD That would be one DLC pack i'd actually consider buying now.
Yes, actually, tens of thousands. No hyperbole. Many of the articles being criticized receive tens of thousands of views.
She gave me crabs so I sold her out to her mother. End of story. Hurray.
Unique IPs or trolling hits? ;) Cuz I contribute at least 8 myself.
Are you serious? MMORPG.com is ranked in the top 10,000 of all internet sites. They no doubt get a couple million unique hits per month. You think 10s of 1000s of views is hyberbole?
/laff
There is an ignore function. That's what the "block" above each post is for. It blocks all post from that user.\
I'm sure I'm on many people's list. Gives me a warm feeling.
And tens of thousands out of millions would be what? Oh, that's right. A minority.
Just rename the site to something that fits, and everyone will be happy.
Wow. I'm a moron. I had no idea that was even there, rofl. I wonder who has me blocked. :D
Petty posts that have no real value and Stradden replies as he does is not un-professional in any way. it is important taht the guys here cobvver the major RPGs here, The Majority of content here is MMO related so no problems.
Studio 38 article not a problem we need as much background and lore as we can get on the Copernicus MMO. Dragon Age fantastic has earned its right to be discussed and so many of us here played it due to the current lack of good MMOs again no problems.
Some people hee are looking pretty foolish teh response to this article is childish very childish.
OK. Let's focus back on the actual content of the article. As Jon explained above, we do post articles and media that are either 1) from our sister site Game on Mac or 2) not MMOs but are still relevant to MMO gamers from time to time. This thread isn't for discussing the legitimacy of this practice. We certainly appreciate your feedback, but like it or not, these articles and media are here to stay. They are both popular and relevant, and that's all there is to be said about it.
If you'd like to discuss the matter further, you can feel free to create a new thread in our Site Suggestions forum, and I'll be sure to review it for feedback, but as far as this thread goes, let's please move on to discussing the substance of the interview. We aren't going to have every strictly non-MMO article we post be dominated with discussion about the practice itself. Continued back and forth regarding the legitimacy of such articles within this thread will be considered off-topic posting and moderators will issue infractions accordingly.
Thanks!
Fine, let's stay on topic of the grossly over-rated ( although not as over-rated as the Mass Effect game ) singleplayer RPG known as Dragon Age: Origins.
I'd personally like to thank Bioware for continuing to give us all free DLC.
Dragon Age is hardly genre defining, if it were, the sequal wouldn't become a Mass Effect clone. Last genre defining thing Bioware has done was the dialog wheel with Mass Effect, and all it did was dumbing the dialog system down. Go figure.
Dragon Age was a good game. Nothing special, just an old school cRPG, even then, it did felt dumbed down when compared to NWN2. Its all about streamlining these days.
As for the article, well, game itself might be newsworthy as it is a sisten genre to mmoRPGs. Don't know about the DLC's though.
I'd have to say that I am halfway pleased with their downloadable content.
For my taste it never seems to go quite far enough.
For instance, Awakenings had some great stuff but some of the side quests seemed over much too quickly. Almost as if they were throw aways.
They just seem to be over a bit too quickly.
I would prefer more exanasions like Awakening, just a bit more thought put into the side quests and stories.
Yeah, but for free, who can complain?
There ya go. Just move all "News" about non-mmo games to Off Topic. See, there's already a section for this stuff, and the staff aren't using it. What an example they're providing for us impressionable forum users.
Edit: Now stay on topic. They'll hit us with the banhammer if we continue to discuss this.
Way to busy to play it yet, but when I get the game of the year addition at the end of the year, with all the extras free and loads of mods to download it will be awesome. :)
I personally liked having the article available. While its not an MMO its a RPG, a very good one at that. ....Anyways please dont complain about it, if you dont like it, dont click it.
Thanks for the news and article.
I like coming here because it isn't all about MMO only day in day out, but mixes it up a bit occasionally.
Besides, although the main focus is definitly on MMO, and that's great, the RPG bit is there for these sorts of bits now and again.
Or maybe that's just me.
I should also add that while I own the game and all the available DLC and expansion, I wasn't overly impressed that the latest DLC is to revisit Golems....AGAIN.
<<shakes fist>>
Thanks for the heads up.
Um...guys?
Why so much hate over DA:O? BioWare is a solid RPG developer that does have an MMORPG in the works and that MMO's mechanics are largely based on several of the developer's single-player RPGs including both DA:O and Mass Effect.
Personally, I own DA:O and Mass Effect and play them both and am also an avid MMO gamer. Is there not enough going on in other forums today that it's necessary to flame this article, or is everyone so upset over the attention StarCraft II (also a product developed and published by a company with their hat in the MMO market) that there's some need to senselessly tear people's heads off over...nothing? If what you see offends you...don't look.
Oh I think there is plenty of head tearing off from BOTH sides of the issue here, whether or not MMORPG should have as many articles as they do.
As for DA:O, I like it. I liked Mass effect 2 too. I don't like their DLC; it's over-priced, doesn't continue the story and just backtracks to cover matieral mentioned briefly in more depth. I prefer to move forward, not back, and that's why i like expansion packs, not DLC. And what difference does it make if you like DA: O or not when they're pretty much abandoning what they did with DA to clone ME2 and slap fantasy paint on it?
I thought people only came here for the free stuff anyway.
Yeah the non-MMO articles here used to irritate me too, but that's just the way that it goes. This site has been going into a more general direction for awhile now and it's their website, so they'll do what they want to do.
I imagine that the stagnant nature of the MMO genre and the over-all negative atmosphere here surrounding said genre definitely has not encouraged them to remain focused on MMOs.
Um this whole story line sounds like the Paragon line with Branka when you went into Orzirmar in the first story. We found out how the golems were made then... So how is this going to be any different?
This site is primarily devoted to MMOs. That doesn't mean they can NEVER write an article about a non-MMO. It is amazing how easily some people get worked up over nothing. I'm pretty sure the people who make the site determine what they cover and not a few people who fly into a nerd rage at the smallest thing they don't agree with.
That being said, I really liked the interview. In addition to MMOs my friends and I also play Dragon Age and the article was extremely interesting. I bought Dragon Age on day 1 with the DLC that was available at the time, which was only Warden's Keep and The Stone Prisoner. Later on Return to Ostagar came out and I got that as well. Since then the DLCs have been piling up and it looks like it is time for me to dust off one of my favorite games and take another run at it.
The only thing that I haven't been a fan of is the limited play time of most DLCs. They cost between $5 to $7 and generally only last an hour or 2. I played the main game in about 60 hours for about $50, which means I was paying about $.83 per hour of play time, which puts an equivalent DLC cost at about $.83 to $1.66. The DLCs are always interesting, it's just I wish they lasted longer for the money.
I have to say, non mmo pieces wouldn't be that annoying if the quality of the rest of the mmo articles was consistently good. Lately it seems like half of the articles are very poorly written, without a lot of thought put into them, or just plain have no useful information at all. Combine that with a slew (this isn't the only one) of non-mmo articles at once, and it just looks bad. This article is pretty good for what it is, I just would prefer to see more, better written articles on the site's core subject.
For MMO news you really can't beat massively.com, period. This site has degenerated to second hand news and opinion pieces, both flooded with corporate driven hype and obnoxiously sized ad space. If a number of viewers respond critically to content, it may be time for a little introspective analysis, rather than becoming childishly defensive of the material.
Aparently it's the sign of the times. SciFi channel closing serials because they are too SciFi few years ago, now MMORPG covering single player games instead of MMORPG...
Oh how terribly terribly wrong you are.
The game is shite, its not genre defining, its not original.. and most importantly, it's not multiplayer!
dont worry though, I havnt read a word of it so you cant reply with "well if you dont like it dont read it" I just came to figure out why your now posting articles about a single player game. I mean, the REAL answer! Not the rubbish you've just managed to pick from between your toes this morning.
Great game, love the dlc it gives.
I'm sorry people but I am a gamer. I play games. Seeing info about a non mmo game doesn't get my panties in a bunch like some of you. I don't understand why it does. Because you "come here to read about MMOs"...So what's stopping you from doing that? Did the search button break? Did the forums go down for ONLY MMOs but stay up for other games? Did the game list explode?
People complain about stuff just to complain. They complain about things because they think they are making some sort of point that will show them off in some better light (without thinking about actually doing it like that), or just to be jerks.
You are not suddenly hampered if you ONLY wish to learn about MMOs because of stories about other games.
But yeah, it pretty much comes down to this...
You Upset?
I really enjoy it when Stradden comes on here every few months and rips into the community. No, seriously, I do enjoy it!!! :)
As far as the DLC content goes I don't think the game warrents it. Sure I enjoyed the game but I don't think it was/is as ground breaking as some people do. But then again I don't care for Farmville and I know millions of people love that so...meh. <shrug>
I would have put bann hammers to some of these trolls :-/ long ago.
Its nothing new that the page mmorpg.com isnt purely making news about MMOs. For me its old beef. There for i dont understand the reactions of the "emos", how the mods shouldnt post news about other important games.
Dont like the news post? Ignore it. Works well for me.
For me MMORGP.COM is gaming site with focus on MMOs, but that doesnt meant they post only and only about MMOs.
Adapt or die trying it.
Thanks for the interview/article! The fact that many of your readers play SPRPGs as well as MMOs makes this relevant IMO.
Heh, tough crowd. But yeah, first thing I thought was why is this here? I hated Dragon Age, and now i have to see news about it where it doesnt belong. The write could have done an article on Earthrise instead, which we never hear about. Hell, write 10 articles a day on SWTOR. Itll never get old.
Whups, sorry just saw your warning and cant edit my post. Umm, good article on dragon age. yay?
brogans alive thrice blessed are we!
Nice review of an update of a game I loved ...only Baldurs Gate 2 was a better Party based RPG overall for me
Please continue to keep us informed about any updates or news about DA:O and anything from Studio 38..I am REALLY looking forward to Copernicus
To all the people whining like petulant children that this type of news " isn't applicable to MMORPG" I have an idea ?
Why don't you start your own MMO website where you can enforce your own myopic views and leave the articles alone that many of us actually enjoy ?
Just a thought......
Dragon Age sucked and I would prefer not to see articles on crappy offline linear RPGs on MMORPG.com. Just my 2cp.
Guys settle down.
They more than likly still have to talk about this non mmo as they took money to advertise it on their site.
This is just a follow up between business partners, that is more than likly in the contract they both signed when the game came out.
We had all this before, yes its not strictly speaking what the site should review. But it is an rpg and has a darn sight more roleplaying in it than many MMO's, good single player rpg's often do. Thats a reflection on the MMO format and good single player design more than anything else.
But the idea its all a backroom deal is so passe. The mega hype and the paucity of any RPG single player titles is enough reason to include it.
Holy shit, Bioware is making a Dragon Age MMO in addition to the Star Wars one?! Wow! That's awesome, I can't wait to play it!
<--- grabs popcorn.
People will whine about anything these days. I become ever more impressed these same people can tie their shoes in the morning or power up their PCs.
Because we all know that line of text linking to this artucle is a horrible travesty of justice and should demand capital punishment. Even if no one but pathetic attention whores give two damns about whether or not there's an extra article you may or may not read if you do not feel so inclined.
Get a life.
I didn't care about their previous DLC as it didn't really have anything to do with the main character; I'm happy to see they're continuing with the Warden's story now...
I dont see the problem with reviews of non-mmo games
After playing Dragon Age origins though, its like eh. I wouldn't call it genre defining either. When I heard about it, I thought it would be a free roam adventure like oblivion, but its just a linear RPG. Eiher way though, it has a spot for this site I think. Just like Mass Effect and elder scrolls.
They ay not be multiplayer, but they are still massive. Well, oblivion is anyway. The other too just seem way too linear.
A good 40-50% of all the mmo players I know well in Eve also seem to play Dragon Age Origins so tbh there does seem to be a genre crossover as to "likes". Found it an interesting read myself.
I already knew about this DLC but the interview was interesting to.
Also lol at the nerd rage wth is wrong with people?
