2005 Reader's Choice Award Winners

Reader's Choice Most Anticipated: Dungeons & Dragons Online, Turbine Entertainment

They did not fare so well in the favorite company category, but good things are on the horizon for Turbine Entertainment. Dungeons and Dragons Online takes the most anticipated game and Lord of the Rings Online is nominated. DDO takes a small-server, community based approach to MMORPGs as they take advantage of instanced, D&D style missions to bring the popular pen-and-paper game to the computer.

This category was probably our closest. With twelve games nominated, it was anyone's contest up until the final day. Honorable mentions have to go to Star Trek Online and Pirates of the Burning Sea who came within a whisker of stealing this category from the eventual winners.

Only the top five are shown above, but full results were as follows: DDO 13%, Pirates of the Burning Sea 12%, Star Trek Online 12%, RF Online 11%, Vanguard: Saga of Heroes 10%, WAR 9%, Lord of the Rings Online 8%, our choice for most anticipated Age of Conan 7%, Dark and Light 5%, Hero's Journey 3%, Auto Assault 3% and Huxley 3%.

Finally, can EVE complete its sweep? We reveal the 2005 MMORPG.com Reader's Choice Best Game!
