Editorial Awards Most Anticipated: Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning

The winner in this category is an unreleased announced title that is making our editorial staff salivate.

It should come as little surprise that Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning has all of us over here at MMORPG.com just a little bit giddy. This newest offering from EA Mythic brings one of the most enduring fantasy franchises into the world of MMORPGs. EA Mythic seems to be going out of their way to create a game that is true to the original franchise, almost ideally lending itself to the Realm vs. Realm gameplay that has made Mythic famous.

This choice echoes this year’s decision in the MMORPG.com Reader’s Choice Awards proving that this game holds appeal for press and public alike.

Honorable Mentions

Gods & Heroes: Rome Rising

This upcoming game from Perpetual Entertainment gets a thumbs up from us as well this year. While some of the hype surrounding this game has depleted, we still think that the concept and look of this game were too much to let pass without mentioning.

Let’s face it, any game that lets you play Romans is pretty cool. Add to that their great concept for squad combat and you’ve got something that we can’t wait to try out!

Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures

Who could forget this highly-anticipated MMORPG. Based on one of the most enduring fantasy worlds of our time, this game promises to be something a little bit more for grown-up players. Themes on the horizon that include things like: dark magic that can lead players to hell, drinking contests slavery (escaping from it) and more, solidify the game’s intended audience.

This game has a lot of people excited, and should be fun to watch as it develops over the next year.

Pirates of the Burning Sea

Who hasn’t at one point or another wanted to play a pirate. That’s exactly the fantasy that Flying Lab is trying to make come true for us with their upcoming nautical MMORPG that will see players sailing the high seas in search of adventure and booty.
