June Hotfix

On June 12th, Shadowbane released the notes for their June 2006 Hotfix. They have also produced another warning to players that would make use of exploits, that they have a zero tolerance policy:

The following changes have been made with the June 2006 Hotfix:

  • Players can no longer drag items into a dead NPC's inventory
  • Fixed an issue with being able to use items from certain storage containers
  • Fixed an issue with characters with the same name being deleted and remade

We want to take this time to make an announcement that we have zero tolerance for players who try to use an exploit, especially those that disrupt the economy of a server, give unfair advantages in Player vs. Player combat, or can affect the performance of the game servers. This goes against the theme of fair play that we have instituted for the game, and is in clear violation of the Code of Conduct and Terms of Use. Players involved in the use of these exploits are having their cases evaluated by the Disciplinary Committee. Actions will result in those who actually performed these actions having all of their accounts permanently revoked. Those who did not directly perform these actions but were involved will be treated on a case-by-case basis. Any gains they have accumulated will be removed from the game world.

We must stress once again that we are opposed to any kind of cheating and are dedicated to maintaining a competitive but fair environment in Shadowbane. This will serve as a final warning to others who are using exploits. If you are caught using one, you will be banned without question from Shadowbane and your account will be revoked.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in this matter. If you suspect someone of using an exploit or other instances of cheating, please send a petition in-game or through the Ubi.com Support Site or contact me directly.
