Big Changes Coming in 2.0.1 for Patrons, New Players & More

Now that Secret World Legends has a few days under its belt, the developers are ready to unveil some of the things that players can expect when patch v2.0.1 debuts. Most, if not all, of the changes coming in the update are in response to player feedback, most notably changes directed to "new players, monetization, loot rewards and the Patron system".

Patrons will be getting a nice bump with double AP and SP from earned experience, though there are a few limitations including special events or compensation rewards. In addition, Marks of Favor are being increased by 20% for Challenges. Lastly, Anima Leap and Teleport for free.

Developers are responding to player feedback with regard to dungeon loot. Players felt that there wasn't enough return on the effort. As a result, story dungeons will drop crates with a better-than-average chance to drop items including Extraordinary talismans. Elite Dungeon crates will contain both normal loot and a Distillate. Rare crates will see an increased spawn rate and will have both an Extraordinary item and a Distillate. And look for XP rewards as well, including a "first dungeon of the day" system.

Other notable inclusions:

  • larger inventory (up 10 slots)
  • Sprint 2 and weapon unlock prices are being reduced
  • Active and Passive pages for weapons will have a combined price. Unlock both at the same time for one price.

You can check out the full update letter and notes on the Secret World Legends site.

Thanks for the tip, Dragnelus!
