    • Filefront Downloading Problem
    • There is something obviously wrong with your system then as this is not a function a "download" via windows has any control over.  I'd reinstall my OS if I'm having these issues.  There are many that have downloaded from filefront very recently and it seems you have a very "unique" problem.

I understand your frustration, but if you are truly not a novice with OS's then you must understand that an HTTP download does not have any control functions as you are describing whether or not you could claim something so obscure as the source of your problem.  I would recommend perhaps emailing support at filefront and asking them to look into it and posting the reply you receive here.

I'm sceptical of this issue for good reasons.

First point - tedium of the grind.   - Wow, this MMO out of all that I've played, and I've tried them all... Have this thing called "a grind" it's what gives xp, and believe it or not PW has the most quests, that's not made up, but a fact, so the grind is less than any other out there.  ... MMO's are not for this fellow.

Second point, about "Immortals" ... Big deal lol.

All I have to say is when the going gets tough, and you face a challenge, some people stay and some people tuck tail and run.  I'm not "scared" of any guild when I play lol.  It actually gives me incentive to lvl higher.  Funny attitude.

      ah the naivety

many people want to be involved with TWs, but poor design means very few will experience them (unless they are satisfied with throwing away hard-earned in-game gold to be slaughtered within a couple of minutes)... Cubizone have repeatedly stated that they are not allowed (under terms of the license) to alter the game files to make this feature more accessible - for the short and medium-term TW is as good as dead

since you are new to these forums, and new to PW - and quite probably new to MMOs in general i shall explain 'grind' to you.

All level-based games require attainment of xp (experience points) in order to attain the next level. Typically this is done by the completion of quests and killing of monsters (mobs). In some respect ALL can be considered a 'grind'. However, there are quantitative and qualitative differences to the 'grind', some can be mathematically measured, others are based on subjective experienced (they are independent measures, yet the former can influence the latter)

PW has a very low quantitaive and qualitative grind scores initially, questing (including daily quests) providing most of the XP required to level, and little requirement to 'farm' XP.

After you have attained level 60 or 70 the XP farming requisite causes both measures of grind to increase steeply. So now questing and daily quests (both (by now) Rosalind and world-quest (WQ) provide only a small % to the next level, requiring 80+% of the XP needing to be found by farming. As you move through the 7X levels, a solo player cherry-picking mobs for XP and grinding as hard-and fast as they can will make LESS than 1% of a level in an hour.

Therefore players need to find 'AOE parties' to increse this 1% / hour to 5% / hour. This is attainable with XP scrolls and burning through hierograms (cash shop items) - not all players can afford to do this, and some classes (WF) are excluded from these parties all together. Of course AoE parties are unlikely to be uninterrupted. The controlling guilds will routinely scout the AoE areas for parties and PK them because they dont want others levelling, to waste your scrolls, dolls and heiros

This is just the start of the XP - grind slope... it will continue to worsen as you pass through the 70s into the 80s and beyond (most players i knew have quit either in their 70s or 80s due to the tedious nature of XP farming)

of course the XP grind is not the only grind here. Item grind is another tedioum. Since there is a huge advantage in having better gear, you will probably want some of that uber-loot. so you farm FBs for molders and HH for mats. Party requirements, drop rates, and endless farming the same instances over and over, make this yet another tedious grind.

So when the possibility of fun TWs disappears, and the endless XP / item grinds stretch out before you to infinity most players think "screw this - i stopped having fun a while back, time to move on" and quit.

Griefers.  MMO's are primarily social mechanics with feature sets.

New to MMO's? lol thanks for the grossly unfounded assumption.

      Ultima Online - 1989 - 2001

      ShadowBane - Casually

EverCrack - Didn't care for the mechanics compared to UO it was a poorer system immensely, only offering 3D atomosphere

      Dark Age of Camelot - 2002 - 2006

Dungeons & Dragons Online - Casually

Lord Of the Rings Online - Not a bad game, but same mechanics until 2nd patch as most Western established MMO's, the cartoonish graphics as in WoW below, really turn me off.

World of Warcraft - Casually though I don't care for it's cartoonish graphics

      Vanguard - BETA

      Horizons - Tested

F2P - ARCHLORD, REQUIEM, SHAIYA, Knight Online,

GUILD WARS (NOT A TRUE MMO) - good LAN GAME.

      NWN (See descrip of GW)

      -------------

My style of play in MMO's is an extreme power gamer until I reach a high level with a few alts, then I tend to switch to a Role Playing mode, and helping newer players.

Now, if you'd like to debate these points without assumptions, I'd be happy to.  I find that people whom overly criticize PW either don't like a challenge as offered by international players, or have a bias that is seriously lacking in culture.

Now what is your main griefing points?  Let's go over them point by point with our own expertise in experience....
