1) City of Heroes/Villians- Been there since release, don't plan on leaving anytime soon. Too much fun, a lot of great RP and community on Virtue.
2) SWG Pre-NGE- Some of the best gaming experiences i've had were there...havn't really been that involved and immersed in a game since then.
3) Eve Online- Love it...great to see a sandbox, skill based style game around and doing as well as it is. Hoping for more MMO's that follow that style in the near future.
4) Everquest- Where i started with MMO's, and stayed until CoH came along. Many memories, a lot of time spent there.
That's about it from me...not really thinking of a 5th choice right now.
The cross platform thing is bugging me too, but it does have some really good potential. I'm definately looking forward to this coming out. I'll be grabbing it for PC, of course. Good to see some more competition in the super hero MMORPG area.
1. WoW
2. SWG post NGE (didn't mind the CU before it at all, best play experiences were in that timeframe between that and the NGE)
3. Lineage II (Met some great people that i RP'ed with...but just couldn't get into it otherwise)
4. Matrix Online (post Sega involvement and after the live events got eliminated.)
5. Age of Conan
Storywise, it does make sense that the huge number of super heroes and villians exist. With the recently released issue 12, they actually go a little into that, giving some insight directly into the origins of the powers. Also, looking at the backstory between the lead hero and villian characters Statesman and Lord Recluse will tell you much about why there are so many heroes and villians currently in the game world (also why they are the strongest heroes/villians in the CoX world).
Are you still playing (or subscribed to) your first MMO?
