1) Assuming that the 400,00 sale number we've heard is accurate, the current poll (1407 pollers as of my shot at it) is hardly an accurate representation. So no real data can be gleaned from it.
2) 70%+ Stated they were happy with the game overall.
3) About "Not pleased with the current state of the game". That's...kinda vague. Heck, I'M not pleased with the current state. Cause it's NOT perfect. But that doesn't mean I dislike the game or consider it not worth playing. it has bugs that need fixed. They will be fixed, and I will play a game that I like. That's what matters.
He does have a point though. I mean, way to go on the good sales, but it outsold an ancient MMO already being played by 7 million people and a MORE ancient sim game I didn't think anyone played at all.

Blimey, can't remember the last time i heard about players "training" (we call it dumping where i come from).
It's the idiots method of griefing, simple and effective.
It is griefing, but it's wicked fun to do it once in awhile. I remember everytime I left South Karana in EQ, I'd fire an arrow at the cyclops and pull it to the bridge where I zoned. Then the next poor fellow to zone into South Karanas would find himself facing that ogre immediately.
Trains are great fun. Feeling mischievous is fun, perhaps is the reaons. It's fun to do something sneaky once in awhile.
So I did what monks do best. I grabbed everything I could see, barrelled down on the other group....and feigned death at their feet. Wiped out 6 people in 6 seconds.
I don't normally agree with that sort of thing...but it felt GOOD.

I like AoC, but this excuse doesn't work for them.
No, no MMO is finished, but some of the core of this game was just left out. The quests begin to dry up later on in the game and you're left being forced to grind out lvls. It's not fun.
The least they could do is drop in some repeater quests for xp. XP is gained through quests in this game. Grinding is more painful here then most.
Now this, I'll grant you. The quest situation is pretty ugly that high up, and I can understand people being upset. According to Gaute's message they're adding content to fix that. I can only hope it will be soon.

A finished product is one that launches with all the bells and whistles that were promised. The product runs as promised with very few interuptions. An adjustment or two may be needed to deal with unexpected problems, but the game is as advetrised, or complete.
Personaly I can't think of any MMO that has reached the lofty goal of launching Finished.
This however does not mean that the product does not grow. In my opinion that is the essence of what an MMO is, growth. To me at least, the general "I want a finished Product" complaint is based on two things;
I. games advertising A and B and only delivering B. II.advertised performance
So delivering a relatively bug free game that runs at the min rec specs, with everything promised would, in my mind would be a "Finished Game" and again I can't think of a game that can claim this accomplishment.
I have no opinion on AoC, since I don't have a computer that can run it, but most MMO's, in my opinion have "growing pains" and take a month or two to iron out.
Thank you. This was pretty much the point of my discussion sans my usual wall of text.
Again, I'm not undermining people's right to be unhappy with a product, but I think a few take it a bit too far.
What characteristics of an MMORPG do you look at most?
