If you could be a little more descriptive as far as what problems you are running into with your power supply I could try to give you some advice.

Well, when people talk about grinding, it's not usually all about the time it takes for one to level up by repeatedly bashing on enemies that give little to no exp for easy kills.
It's all about interest.
Thing is, the way I see it, grinding by means of quest gives the player a sense of reward, and if he notices a good reward from a quest, a sense that further quests will yield better and awesomer rewards. Thus, he continues to stay interested and deals with the grinding.
In another case, grinding can be painful, especially with crap quests. The player, after hours and hours of grinding and getting only one level, will just pack up and leave. Thus, he has lost interest and quits.
Please note that my "player" is a CASUAL gamer. Not a hardcore "Oh-my-god-I-Have-To-Win-This-MMO" gamer.
So, essentially, quests, in my mind, are needed, and don't count as "Grinding" in my mind. The quests better be damn good though, and not "Kill 100 enemies for this crappy pair of -5 STR shoes".
I agree. I am hoping that it takes some effort to reach top levels unlike many P2P games that have recently come out. It seems that many of them can have hard core players reach top level with minimal effort. As long as the quests are good and there are choices in quests. I don't want the only questline to be a very linear approach to questing that basically requires you to go from zone A to B to C etc.
If the game has alot of diversity in what you can choose to do with your playtime it looks like it can be successful.

Did anyone else get this laughable email from FC? I find it very sad they had to send these emails out after the very first month . The survey was not short, and they even asked if you updated your computer for the game.....

Dear Age of Conan Customer,
You have decided not to renew your subscription after playing Age of Conan for the first month. We at Funcom regret your decision and are contionously doing as best we can to improve your experience of the game.
As such, we kindly invite you to respond to a short survey in order to gather your opinion and use it to improve the game
I don't see anything laughable here. Quite the opposite, it just increased my respect for them a bit.
I can see they're trying really hard to improve their game and all but imo they kinda missed at the very basic fundamental level of design. I really don't think they can "improve" on the fact that they made a basically linear single-player game with a MMO capability... There is just about nothing they can do now to change that. It is sad really but they should have thought about it earlier, at the very beginning of the design process. A failure of imagination I'd say.
Well I really do wish them all the best since I hate to see effort, however misguided, end up unrewarded. I really hope their XBox release goes phenomenal (because it really could turn out to be an awesome console online game) and that they retain a happy core player group for the PC version.
I agree Markoraos. Well said
I would like to add a statement. To people who are on their free month. Unless you are stuck, don't report bugs. Last time I checked you are paying them and unless you are fallover in love with the game, let them fix it themselves. Too many game companies take advantage of it.

They have impressed me with the addressing of critical issues and I think they will use this to get their priorities in a better order. If 90% complain about end game then they will focus on that before fixing say crafting where maybe 10% complain.
I would say to potential subscribers...give it 3 months and see how the AoC subscribers feel.
Do you Role Play?
