Er, is that 2 or 4 sentences. I'm not totally certain when you are trying to say. People will be happy they have the wrong IP? when your teachers told you that grammar was important, they weren't kidding.
There are tons of disgruntled SWG players who will take aim at this mmo if it is yet another non-sandbox, level based linear crap game with no real pvp.
He's right, there are a lot of disgruntled SWG vets out there. I met a lot of them while playing wow. They were having fun until you'd asked them about SWG..thats when you close the chat window.
There are tons of those in development anyways..
Indeed, the point is valid. Anytime a type of game does well, everyone tries to copy its formula of success. Personally, I would like to see a return to sand-box in the star wars universe, ut I think its a bit early to start chanting "doom"
This is going to be a very hard IP to handle for Bioware and not the easy cash cow they might dream off.
Are you high, the 1st KOTOR sold very well and was a great game. Thus far, I have been very happy with the respect they've paid to the star wars lore, while still making fun games. I do admit that the formula that makes for a great single-player game does not directly translate to a great mmorpg. But FFS, give them a frickin chance. They've done right by the IP thus far, imho.
I know I personally will be giving them a tough time if they make a polished version of POST cu/nge SWG and push it to the market.... And I doubt I am alone.
HAHAHAHAHAHA, omg the frickin arrogance. Omg thanks man, that was a great laugh when i read it. Seriously, you giving them a "hard time" would amount to what that BIOWARE should even acknowledge your exsistence? I really don't wanna see another CU/NGE type game, but man.....I'm not about to parade through there office in clone trooper armor to state my demands.
Ah damn it! if they don't release it before its actually ready, what am I doing to whine about after launch! Thats why I come here!
AoC did it right, they hit the magic 90% finished landmark and launched that puppy. Man, I was able to whine and complain on here for weeks! Shoooot dog, that was the best thing since Vanguard, let me tell ya.
/sarcasm off
1.) finish the game
2.) release the game
3.) play the game
Thanks for coming!![]()
I awill add my comments in the most meaningful way that matters to devs right now.
As we speak, I am cancelling my AoC account. Here's why...
I have reactivated my old FFXI account and am enjoying seeing old friends and seeing the new content. SE banned a TON of RMTs...which when I read it I was like "whatver, like THATS going to do anything. But when I checked the Ah, a rare item that had gotten up to almost 50 million gil was down to around 1.6 mil (peacock charm). It was like this with everything.
Banning those people cost SE money, but their game is much better off as a result. This is the kind of company I respect, putting their game and its customers first. As for funcom, I still have a ticket filed to which they never replied. I circumvented teh problem, thats to the much pissed-off community on the Funcom forums, but the point still stands.
So, I believe them when they said they're initial sales were over 700,000 K. I also believe that the number is declining faster then is expected (you should always assume that not everyone who comes to the party will stay past the free buffett). I didn't think it was a terrible game, but it was a bit too much eye candy and not enough content for my taste.
So, I am using my wallet to sound off on if I believe funcom is being a bit overzealous in their declarations. However, I might go back some day and try it when the game is a bit more mature.
Really, of the total number of people playing mmorpg's today, a very, VERY small percentage of them visit this site, and even less actually post here. So, this site only represents what that small percentage thinks of games and is by no means a measure of the overall opinion of anything.
Truthfully, a lot of the people here are bitter, jaded people who's favorite mmo is either dead, by way of dwindling population (like UO..*sniff*) or was broken by its creator (SWG). They don't have anything they wanna play, but then can't go back and play their old games to the same level of funzies. I expect they are not actually playing anything of the genre right now. So they sit here...and hate on everyone who actually might be enjoying a game that is currently out.
but I SWEAR I am not one of them, I just come here for the screenshots ![]()
Sadly, all of the people who spent every waking hour escaping reality by playing sandbox mmo's got kicked out of mom's house and had to get a real job...so now they only have time to play simple games like WoW...hey! THAT'S why its so popular!![]()
In your opinion, what kind of gamer are you?
