There was a dev post or report or something about CCP hiring guys to make new story arcs and such. They put out some new ones not to long ago. If they keep on the track they're going more stories will come out. It is rather annoying to get the 'lost the bet' or any other mission 3, 4 or more times in a row. I don't mind the repeats so much as long as they're more spread out with different missions in between.
Edit: spelling
Only one?
Okay here goes, I like how you're not automatically 'a hero'. Most MMO's out now make sure you feel like the hero as you're questing and leveling up. Its okay, but to me it just strokes the ego a bit, but doesn't have substance. It's shallow, I don't feel like I've worked for that 'hero' title and honor. Oh sure, you may have spent hours and hours in some instance or series of quests, but really, most are linear and scripted.
I like the way it works in EVE, if you want to be the 'hero' you have to work for it. Your hand is not held by the Devs. You have to put in time and effort, sometimes even small goals feel special, more special then a scripted linear quest line. It requires patience and a good attitude. A willingness to learn from your mistakes. For the patient EVE can give you a great sense of accomplishment not found in most MMO's now a days. I love EVE for this, I alone create my own destiny.
SWG used to have this feel. Thank you CCP for such a game as this and the opportunity for all to have the chance to play this style of game. Thank you for staying true to your vision and not selling out. ![]()
Excellent attitude!
One word of caution, EVE gets into your blood. Oh it might seem like it's just your typical game (albeit a hard one). The longer you play, the more you learn and understand, the more involved you get, the addiction grows. Its all a slow and subtle process, may even take up to several months, and possibly (like me) even involve setting it aside for a month or two. I kept training during that time, but would only logon long enough to switch skills. But it always stayed there in my mind, something kept drawing me back, so I started playing regularly again.
Beware, slowly, ever so slowly it creeps up on you until one morning you wake up and realize you've had a dream about EVE.
In all my years of gaming, including playing several games for years almost every night, I've never had a dream about a game. Until EVE. And with the new stuff in the pipeline, the future of EVE is looking even better. :)
RIP Jeff Freeman. You were the only one who actually seemed sincere and humble about how things came about. For that you earned the respect of a good many of the old SWG players.
My thoughts are with you and your family.
What a sad sad waste.
I think what he's getting at is there even such a ship as the Drake Navy Issue? I'm still a nub in EVE, but I've never heard of a DRAKE navy issue. ![]()
Would you rather see a game release pushed back a year or have the game release witha few bugs that will be fixed?
