I guess you are debating if you want to loose the time you have put into your char? Well, think about it like this it might take a while for your sever to get up to the population you want.
Definitely roll on something else, you can always come back to him. Or what you'll probably find out later, is your have more fun on your new char around more people.

This was an issue at DAoC's launch too. Some people were up in arms, some were glad.
I'm sure that you could turn it off just like in most games, if they did have a bigger /gc.
If you don't like watching/listening, then turn the damn thing off!!!
More options are always better.
BTW, I do agree that a large /gc does get a lot of cross chatter. To not have it as an option is bad though.

I asked on here last night if there was a torrent available. There is...just look around and you can find it.
You probably want download as fast as off FP, but you want be waiting 5hrs to start downloading either(or 3x in your case). I'd say I've prob got an average of 100 to 120KBs. I started at around 4AM and it is right at 70% done.
