• • Sure, like most people, I hate grinding, but what are you going to replace it with?

  • replace grinding with playing, look at Ultima Online, you play and level up your skills by playing, where all other games you play the game and leveling up is a barrier to moving on.

  • Ah, that makes sense. Either way, whatever, at least I don't have to go out and buy the game all over again. I'm really excited to play and make some new friends :)

  • I bought the 2007 collection last year sometime, installed, registered all keys, etc.. Only played for a few days. Last night I reinstalled and was able to re-use my FFXI key, but not the expansion keys. I was able to create a content pass too and it seems to not have charged me, really weird, I thought I used up my 30 days of free play.

  • So.. I've been playing FF since I was 7 or 8. Absolutely played every single one that came out, when it came out and beat it up until FF 11. I bought FF 11 back in 2003 when it came out and I liked it but due to having a suck-ass computer, it was slow and choppy for me. Now I'm in the position where I have a laptop that runs it better than my original machine and a beefed up computer capable of playing games like crysis and AOC with no problems.

     

    So I reinstalled yesterday, but haven't played yet. I know theres no "beating" ff 11 but I feel it deserves the same ammount of attention I gave all the other FF games.

    So I'm looking for some comrades to start off with, server really doesn't matter, but one of the things that I couldn't avoid when I played so long ago was not being able to speak japanese. If there are any english speaking players who play often and wouldn't mind taking a newbie like myself into their group I would jump at the opportunity.

    Anyway, excited to get into the game, hopefully I can make some cool friends too :)

• • Impressions from a new player with no knowledge

  • I play on Sartok PVP FFA server.

    I found a nice small guild of players to hang out with, haven't grouped other than to just ride around on a boat and stuff but once I get closer in level, i'm sure we'll have some fun adventures.

    I've created a bunch of alts but in the end I really only want to play Ghoul. There is something just perfect about the DK for me. I don't usually play tanks, i get pretty bored with them, but the DK is just a bad ass mofo and I love it.

    Look me up on Sartok, i'm always ready to make friends. I'm level 13 now :)
