How come the only real organized fan group of Star Wars is a Stormtrooper fangroup, and not a Jedi fangroup?

How come Jedi fan effects barely exists and barely sells in any amount, when Blasters, Stormtrooper armor and Stormtrooper certificates and Stormtrooper paintings and R2D2 miniatures and Millenium Falcon tv remote controls sells in huge amounts and for prices way above any "jedi relic"?

Just because you are blinded by the glowbat, and so are every other Jar Jar lubber, doesn't mean that Star Wars fans love the glowbat.... Heck, from some Star Wars fan forums I've been on, the average feel is: "Stop stuffing glowbats in our face, we're sick and tired of it, because Star Wars is so much more than glowbats!"

I hope they go balls to the wall, SW rpg style - jedi, BH, smuggler, droid as playable race, space, minigames (like sabaac and that chess game), gambling, bars, EVERYTHING FUN.

I see it the other way around. This mmo will probably be what the NGE should have been if done right, rather than anything like preCU. It might be a good game never-the-less but I'm not expecting a sandbox or skill based profession system, or a rich crafting system supporting an extensive player driven economy. This will be an NGE'er wet dream. A single player star wars game in an mmo setting.

Yes I highly doubt this is going to be SWG. But any starwars game done well is better then what there is currently.

I agree with all 3 of you guys quoted!

      - This won't be anything like a sandbox game, there won't be a good sandbox game out for another 10 years.

      - This will definitely be better than the current SWG, and hopefully will be as immersive as the original SWG, but with less bugs.  I'm sad to see a class-based, more linear game, but at least it will be a class-based linear game THAT ROCKS!

      - To anyone that doubted a second SW-based MMO, you must have been in denial.  It was inevitable.

As for the "unannounced projects" I have heard nothing though as is always the case with Galaxies I will keep my ears open.

Hoth was an idea pushed by the forum community for 5 years!  SOE had their 'best idea to date' gift wrapped, documented, and sitting on their front porch for 5 years before getting around to implementing it.

According to gameworld.gr there were two videos: an old one (the one posted in Youtube) and another one. That other one remains to be seen apparently.

And those ads for testers, are just that: ads. They don't prove they hired any of those guys (although common sense would indicate that they hired at least a few).

I can't quite understand what's wrong with posting ads for needed positions. That's what ads are for anyway, they just chose to advertise in the greek sites, which is a very sound decision if you want to recruit locals for some of the testing...I don't think there is any question of 'professionalism' there

or, let me phrase that a bit more eloquently:

The guys they probably recruited are most probably all computer-science students; they are not a random individual picked up from the street.

They probably have in-depth knowledge of how computers work, and I'd also assume that prior to testing they'd have been given a small seminar from the developers explaining to them how the game works and what is regarded as normal behavior of the engine and what not.

So all in all, I don't see those guys as random employment choices.

Just to clarify, the term professional is not used for people that don't get paid to do that work.  So while I paint pictures, I am not a professional painter until I sell that crap.

So college students working for free with aren't exactly 'professional testers'.
