it took me sometime to get hooked into eve also. It is quite complex and so many details to learn that it kept me on bay for sometime, being there for more then 6 months, I can say that now I can understand a lot, but that's all. I still don't get the politics between the alliances etc alot atm, but at least now I know almost all of the ships and their weak and strong points, what to runaway from, in what conditions to pick a war against etc.
What I love most about eve is the freedom of choosing your path, and skill based character progress. You just don't need to kill som crab or skeleton thousands of times to get into a level and get uber loot. In eve, you pick your profession(s), decide to be a war pilot, miner, complex runner, hacker, PvPer, join an alliance/corp or solo, you can do a lot with great depth involved. And I love the daily updated stories about the game, you see news about factions involved in game a couple of times a day, and you constantly get free expansion packs. And don't mix does expansion packs with simple zone additions, they add massive changes and contents, for example a new pack will ad empire war, which will enable people to get into small scale PvP ops against other factions (you choose not to get involved, you don't get effected by that war).
Whatever, yesterday I tried EQ2 for some time, and I loved the animations this time, graphics were OK, killed a couple of monsters and got bored to death :)
So eve time for me! :)
simplz amazing, same here, I have free play time for 60 days. Thanks for the information!
