    New York is a state, not a church.  The governor signed it, not a bishop.

    @OP, that article had nothing to do with religion!  So please, take your anti-religious bashing elsewhere.

    If you're going to have an argument or debate or whatever, at least try to stick to the main article and what's being reported.

    If people are so vehemently against this, guess what, start your own protests and try to stop it.  Coming here complaining, and going off on a rant, sure isn't helping.

    Not dead yet.  Just stagnant.  There really isn't anything that i would enjoy that's out right now, and i haven't played an MMO heavily for almost 4 months.  I did play AoC for around 3 weeks though.

    Well said nitefly, it's pretty much how i feel about LotRO.  And yes, i only played one character at 50, with the exception of an alt i tried, only got him to 15 or 16 though.

    50 Captain, all deeds done except 1, all class quests finished, GM Weaponsmith, Rank 6 Freep, Rank 6 Creep, most quests finished except a few zones, maxed out with 2 reputations (i just had to get the annunimas horse :P), 3 pieces of Rift gear & 3 pieces of PvMP gear, Rift raid up to Thrang only, and all books finished up to 12 (it's when i quit).  Keep in mind, i did all this in around 2-3 months playing around 5-8 hours a day or more, depending how bored i was.

    What else was there for me to do?  You guessed it, find another hobby and get more sun.

    You still act like content patches and upcoming MoM didn't exist....

    Also, 5-8 or more hours per day for 2-3 months - not sure which 1 year old MMO would have kept you playing for more with this tremendous rate. With this schedule, you'll always run out of content in every game.

    • Book 9: Shores of Evendim
    • Book 10: The City of Kings (aka Annunimas)
    • Book 11: Housing
    • Book 12: The Ashen Wastes (Angmar Revamp & PvMP DoF)
    • Book 13: Doom of the Last-king (Forochel)
    • Book 14: The Ring-forges of Eregion

    Book 12 is when i quit, and Book 10 is when i came back to LotRO after almost a 6+ month hiatus (iirc).  And yes, i did play that much because LotRO is a great game, but it was just too casual for me and didn't fit my perspective of what end-game content should be.  Some people get the wrong impression of me and think i hate the game, which is far from the truth.

    REAL PvP is FFA without any restrictions in the actual game world.

    AoC is the closest new MMO that has actual real pvp. However, the instanced zones really kill that feel. Also, the fact that guild sieges are also instanced like some glorified AV is also complete garbage.

    Once again, FFA is NOT the only form of PvP, it's just one aspect of it.  Read my post above.

    As for AoC, they are watering down many aspects of their FFA already.  So much for FFA in AoC. 

    Notoriety System
    A player is flagged in three different ways using this system: innocent, criminal, and murderer.
    
    * Criminals and Murderers will have an icon showing their status.
    * Innocent : No one can perform hostile actions on you without being flagged as a Criminal.
    * Criminal : Performing a hostile action on an Innocent player will flag you as a Criminal for 5 minutes. Any further Criminal acts during the 5 minute time will refresh your Criminal Status.

    Uh, 'real' PvP is about ganking in the open. It's about being given a free hand to hurt a member of another faction who stumbles across your path, any time, anywhere.

    
     

    You have no clue what Player versus Player is.  There are many different variations of it in different gaming genres.

    • RTS: 1 v 1, 2 v2, 3 v 3, etc.
    • FPS: FFA, DM, TDM, CTF, etc.
    • Arcades: Co-Op Mode, High Scores,1 v 1 (Tekken, Street Fighter), etc.
    • MMOs: RvR, Faction based, FFA, Instanced BGs (WoW, WAR,  AoC), etc.

    So please don't tell me what "real" PvP is again, because apparently you don't know.  What you want is Ganking, which is just another consequence of PvP and not "real" PvP itself.
