  • What's the Five-Element System?
    Ancient eastern civilizations believe that every substance consists of five elements -- wood, fire, earth, metal, water. The relationships of these five elements are mutual generation and restriction, which means that every element can generate another element and at the same time restrict another different element.

    In PDO, the Five-Element theory is the basis of various important in-game systems such as professions, skills, monsters, and item crafting.. For example, a water paladin has extra attacking power over fire monsters (such as monkeys) as ''wate'' restricts ''fire''. The Five-Element System adds a new dimension of game-play to PDO, making it a special MMORPG with many interesting features and secrets waiting to be discovered.

    How can I identify five elements?

    In the Phoenix Dynasty Online, every element has its unique mark and color. The following table will give you a clear picture.

    How does the Five-Element System affect my class and skills?

    As you may already learn, when creating your character in this game, there are four types of character classes you can choose from: Paladin, Assassin, Priest and Wizard. However, this's just the tip of the iceberg in the profession system of PDO.

     

    Major Element Attribute

    After you reach level 10 and talk to Element Master (Sun City 465,150), you will get your major element quest. After finishing the quest, you can select your major element attribute, and your character's hidden capability will be unleashed. You are entitled to learn some much more powerful elemental skills (by reading skill books) which only belong to your class and elemental attribute.     Minor Element Attribute

    When you reach level 50 you will have the opportunity to finish a minor element quest and master some minor elemental skills to make you stronger than same-level players who do not possess minor element attribute.

     

    Combination of Profession and Element Attribute

    In short, every element attribute in the PDO has its unique strength and weakness. The combination of class, major element attributes and minor element attributes can create a special MMORPG with wide range of variations and possibilities. Which combination is suitable for you?     How does Five Elements system affect item crafting?
