    • Release Date!!!
    • ok i am at comic con in sad diego and talking with Josh (yeah you know him) and asking him the release date he still says  "Fall".....    but i don't know i will ask him tomorrow  or paul on saturday (you guys don't know how excited i am)   and so far i have not been able to play that much due to everything going on and other booths and such but i can only say one thing

All the naysayers wont have much to wine about launch time ...i played some open RvR today running around with a chosen (some guy standing next to me) and we were killing drawfs left and right (i was playing a  dark elf sorceress)

the spell efects are top notch, i went speechless when i saw a giant purple rock fall from the sky and purple choas spikes shot up from the ground killing an annoying bright wizard.  The combat is very fast and if you are not paying attention you will get jumped  only reason it looks slow in some videos is because it takes time to kill someone/something. but casting time and auto attacking is only a tad slower then "the game which shall not be named" (as taken from another WAR fan)  the action point system is very cool and allows for the fast casting and great combat. and is really great and is a step in the right direction.

The dark elf   darkmagic build up (forget what it is called) is noticable but takes a while to build up  but at the higher levels it is great for damage but have to make sure you have a healer on you....for those "God damn it " moments of choatic backup blasting in your face. Tomorrow i plan on trying to play some more order classes (i played some shadow warrior for a few quests but wasnt long enough to tell anyone about).

one more thing PQs are really really cool...i was playing a chosen and running around and saw these choas mages (they were not on disks so...don't know what to call them.) and the first part of one was fun it was killing 25 empire troops...which was easy solo..but the second part of it was collecting souls but they were guarded by elites (or what ever they were called)

anyway that ends my rant  but i will ask the devs tomorrow about it..

they say the open beta will Start "really soon" so hopefully in august  and hopefully early...

But last and not least   i want WAR and the content i was was very polished and very smooth from everything from the envrionment to the combat.

I still wonder why all these MMORPG makers can't match the Wow speed of its fights. Answer ?

      2. The content of WAR is very limited. You conquer the keeps, you conquer the cities. 10 times, 20 times, 30 times and then what? What are the guildies aiming for? Recognition on the web (like PVE progression in Wow). RvR was played and ended dead 3 years ago with the demise of DAoC.

Why should reconquering the things you conquered already 40 times be playble past 3 months playing?

      3. WotLK will have air battles, sea battles, landing invasions. Not forgetting the team manned tanks which just don't exist in WAR. The whole end zone PVP in WotLK is complete open world - no restrictions. Even parts of the city fights in WAR are instanced.

Not even talking of the newly showed D-Day landings in WotLK.

So with more options -  from mounted combat to air fights - tell me WotLK isn't showing a lot more.

      4. Arena is a terrfic development tool for Blizzard. The fine tunement of its classes nowadays can be compared with pure MMO science. Everything is analysed up to .001% in the millions of competitve arena fights. It allows Blizzard to balance the game better than ever before.

I don't need to show the unbalance in classes DAoC had. With 20 WAR classes the game just will not be balanced in the beginning. Leading to very frustrated playings.

      5. WotLK is already assured of 5 million copies. Everyone and his cat will play with his/her friends to progress in the best polished MMORPG. No one is going to leave it, because your friends in RL will be playing it.

And ... most importantly when you are fed up of having your head turned in for the 213 th time in Wow you still have a massively PVE content, a LOT more professions, a LOT more content, and a PVP e-sports game with price money that doesn't even exist in other PvP MMORPG games.

So CHOICES of play is the 6th reason why PvP WotLK will win easely.

What was WoW at launch, you kill monsters get to 60 runs dungeons, that was it.

Look at it now, sure it expanded, but:

      1) Look at the graphics in WAR, they are alot better than WoW.

      2) Public Quests, possibly the most innovative idea in an MMO.

      3) More that just 4 or 5 scenarios.

      4) Ideas to keep balance during RvR (haven't been released yet)

      5) You cannot compare a game that has been out for 4 years or so, to one that is being release this year. However, you can play it, and that is what those who do not like WoW, who are bored of it, and who are not looking to continue playing it will do.

      1. Thats a matter of opinion.. from what I have seen/played WoW wins easy.. even more so with WoWs new dynamic character/enviroment shadow system: we have yet to see WARs so called lighting/shadow system.. its not even in the beta.

      2. PQ.. kind of new but not realy.. Wow has had similar quests for a while such as the AQ event, patch 2.4 and the Scurge invasion.  And the holiday events.

      3. True, but if WAR did not steal WoW cross server battle group idea WAR could not have more than half a dozen senarios.

      4. ?

      5. agree

ok im sorry  but you have not seen any new screenshots of WAR then  or any new videos ....OMG WoW has leet shadows!!!!!!!!!

      took them long enough

If you have hi-res screen please post.. cus I have yet to see the whole system.. about 6 months ago they showed screen of their uber light system that turned out tobe a lightmap LOL! and websites were confusing WoW and WAr screen shots.  But seriously if you have any screen of the lighting system and shadow system please post.

ok here you go   Video is low quality  but you can download it in HD...... if you want to..and ohh just wait for launch..then you will see..

      http://www.gamespot.com/video/520538/6193632/warhammer-online-age-of-reckoning-e308-game-demo-the-inevitable-city-2008

WoW is playing catch-up and they are scared and they dodge a small bullet with AoC flopping (by small i mean WoW's hardcore PVP players) ...but WAR can take away a lot of WoWs player base. Blizzard is afraid and we can all see it

but i am done now  and i am leaving for Comic con and i will be playing WAR and i  know i will not disapoint
