I could imagine the devs adding something like this in for all classes but I doubt they would add in something this big for "only" Rangers.
I do, however, think that campfire/campsites would be a really cood addition to Vanguard.
Its part of the ranger revamp on test currently, if you have access to the forums, just read the patch notes and the feed back section.
It is on test, it is only for rangers and it is happening ;)

I wont argue with you over graphics, they are subjective anyways. The game is 1000% better than at release but that isnt really saying much, is it?
I think any person looking for an in depth pve game will enjoy Vanguard, just not sure for how long.
The truth be told the game is going no where. The devs fix/add what they can, but what are we talking about 3...5...devs? If there arent more subs there will be little content and no expansions. Hard to get more subs with a tainted name like vanguard.
3...5 devs? Would like to see evidence of this crazy statement.
As for little content, in the last year the game has had:
Guild halls
Massive raid dungeon
Khal revamp
Models revamp
Two dungeons revamped (Ksavari Glutch and Trickers Haven)
Racial mounts
Performance changes
Isle of Dawn
Dynamic weather
Riftway system revamp
Partical pass
Flying mounts, solo, group and raid ones (and quests for them)
If you don't believe me check out the trailer:

I am also from the UK and play both my 50th toons and newbie toons (with my other half).
This is based on me watching (/who) areas as I play on Halagar EU server and Adventuring only.
Roughly speaking every evening:
Isle of Dawn 1-10 - Masses of people, so many...
Other newbie areas 1-10 - Anything from 1 to 6 people in different racial starting areas. Note these are optional from Isle of Dawn for full subscribers.
Veskal's exchange 11-15 - About 10-30 roughly, depending on when.
Qi Riverbank - Same as Veskal's, maybe a little more.
Not sure about Kojan.
Other 11-15 areas have about 5 odd people.
Kaon's Rush 15-20 - About 4-6 folks, this is growing every week as people level.
50+ areas, raid dungeons, a ton of folks, business as usual.
Ranger changes are now on the test server.
Here is a post from the Test Server forums....
Played with both pets and campfire tonight.
Campfire:
1) Graphic for campfire is huge (approx 20' in diameter). Need to reduce to 20% - 25% of current size. At current size it will interfere with corpses, targeting tombstones, using necro meat, etc.
2) With the campfire is basically acting as shareable food with the accelerated hp regen, power regen, and sitting requirements. Removes the need for foraged food for the ranger, which is fine if you plan to replace the food forages with added arrow componentts. Changes to foraged loot table would also affect druids if I am not mistaken.
3) Duration of the camp fire is approximately 30 seconds and requires other players to right click on the campfire to trigger the 'food' effect. Similar to necro meat this is a problem in raiding situations in as much as obtaining line of sight with other players inadvertently blocking access.
4) The campfire regen icon does not state the effects of the benefit. It also takes up a spot on the beneficial buff bar, which is already overcrowded and usually off the screen on most raids.
5) Suggetions for changes: a) Reduce the regen rate on both the hp and power components to continue to allow the need for food. b) Change the interaction of the campfire to that functionality of a permanently rooted, short duration bard pet with about a 5 to 7 foot song radius. Song impact can be either AE affecting all in radius (preferrable) or group restricted. c) Buff icon for the campfire icon would show up in the bard song window freeing up space to see other buff icons. Using this approach would allow for flexibility in building additional types of campfires (i.e. defensive perimeter - increased short term mitigation, High Ground - increased short term offensive benefit, etc, etc, etc)
Pet:
Coded as a minion as previous when it was a short term pet. Pet is now essentially always up with a 1hr timer with a 1.5 second cast time and a 30 second reuse timer. Pet is controlled using the limited minion control panel (also via the /minion <command> for integrating into macros). Since the pet is now essentially up all the time it makes more sense to give it the ability to set it to an always assist mode similar to the pet command window. This removes the need for macroing in the command /minion attack into attack sequences, which also allows for the reuse timer of the attacks to show time remaining until reusable.
Ranger pets also can not exist with diplo contract pets while being classified as minions. They are also killed when summoning a mount and then have to be recast once the mount is removed. Both of these are an annoyance to say the least and limits the impact of diplo on the adventuring sphere.

You are a Everquest 2 raider? Forget about Vanguard´s endgame.
Only ONE raid dungeon till now, wait a coulpe of updates, the raid/endgame content in Vanguard if you compare to Everquest 2 endgame is very, very, very, very limited.
The worst part is, SOE will not invest in proper expansions for Vanguard.
I know usually raiders dont play MMOS for only 2 months, and a MMO with just one raid dungeon and no upcoming expansions will be frustrating for a raider, trust me.
If you want to try Vanguard, you will experience good moments and good group dungeons, if you want a home for months and Raid experience, forget it.
APW is not bad, it is a pretty cool dungeon, but it is it, nothing more... you cant compare with the incredible number of unique raids in EQ2.
...
Our guild encompasses both EQ2 and Vanguard. The folks that raid in both, almost to a person, agree that raiding is better in Vanguard. Not as much of it, but definitely better quality. There is more strategy and tactics involved with VG raiding, the entire APW story line is very interesting and well done, diplomacy, harvesting and crafting are interwoven into VG raiding very nicely and the variety of things different boss mobs will through at you in VG adds incredible variety.
Our guild has been in APW since it's release and we are just now approaching the Core. Yes, some hard core guilds are through it all already but most are still exploring and progressing. APW is huge with 19 major encounters and 13 mini-bosses. You can be in APW with 4-5 other guilds and never see each other all night.
Would agree, raiding in VG is very good and there are a lot of casual guilds still plowing through the content.
With another raid dungeon coming, so much to do...
What is your favorite of EVE's four major factions?
