With the addition of the Ancestral Armor and the diminishing returns on AR/DR it really isn't as hard to compete than it used to be. Also as I said there are a number of new LOW LEVEL events being added before years end including several new low level instances.
In addition to that, Nocturnal Sonata Update #4 is going to include a new system that will give players a new way to level together, changes to the Colony Buffs and Faction Wars so that the underdogs get a chance (The King and Queen will be taking matters into her own hands... thats all I'll say about that) and even more server wide events (both PvE and PvP).
So again, we're looking at content from level 1 through 100 and beyond and adding a lot of stuff still :). That's the great thing about the game.

While I commend them for the innovation of multiple npcs supporting the main character. The theme of a MMO is to supposed to be about play with others. Seems this game instead encourages solo play for the most part.
Contrary to popular belief Sword of the New World includes a plethora of team and raid based content. The general focus of the game is Faction Wars which is a weekly battle to claim Colonies around the New World.
There is also a ton of raids and raid bosses as well as group instances. In an upcoming patch we will be releasing even more of these and a more "traditional" dungeon crawl.
In addition to all that we have daily events like Faction Fight where players from both Factions race to finish a raid instance for a major Factional Buff. There are Clan Wars that can occur anytime between Clans of opposing Factions. There is Andre's Ultimately Fabulous Competition where players fight each other to gain the chance to concur massive raid bosses for excellent loot.
So while solo'ing is definately apart of the game, all of the above requires players to work together. The only difference is in Sword, players rarely need to spend an hour looking for a Tank and Healer. Chances are that if there are 5 people in a group at least ONE of them have one (or more) of each.

hmm was going to give this game a try, but i refuse to play a game that does little to combat bots. What i hate most is when a company lets the bots get crazy out of control, then banns a bunch, says they fixed it, then dissapear untill they have to reban them all again.
This happend with silkroad. Man they bragged about banning like 40k bots, "see we ARE doing something...ect" If they really did care they wouldnt have let 40k bots play for a year.
Seems every f2p game is left out to die (international versions, the koreans take care of their home markets) by the distribution company staff, always pleading that they are understaffed and dont have the resources, despite their company pulls in masive loads of cash a month.
i started playing back around dec. i did see a lot of bots back then - in certain low lvl areas, but they seemed to have improved in cracking down on bots.
currently, i rarely encounter bots, but that's probably because i don't play on the lower lvl maps much anymore, and also i afk a lot, so i can't comment on the state of the bot problem in general (note: if u r low lvl, u can't be pk'ed - which is why RMT bots farm the lower lvl maps). the economy hasn't blown up or had the type of massive inflation in asian versions of ge, but i don't know if that means bots have little effect, or the player base is still too low, or a combination of both.
Actually, currently X-Trap is blocking the 3 biggest known bots and we already have another patch in QA to take down a few more.
As much as people hate them (X-Trap) they are earning their keep currently.
Edit: Also we ban about 2000 accounts per day for botting and removed about 4-5 Billion vis per day from RMT and Fraudsters.

Perhaps you forget the hundreds of posts from players of Vespanola pleading with K2 to do something about The One and their constant botting before the servers were merged.
I personally submitted screenshots via tickets, and even spoke with AM's in game about it (Caballero) and not one thing was done. In fact most posts were deleted, and the people posting were banned for a week.
If that doesn't scream "OMG they are our largest source of income, no bans!" I don't know what does.
Turning a blind eye to that kind of crap in a "PvP" game is just wrong on so many levels.
It's no surprise I couldn't convince the higher ups at the Vault Network to put up a SotNW site ... even after I told them I would build it from the ground up on a "volunteer" basis (IE FREE).
*Edit*
Oh and I forgot the AMs summoning raid bosses for The One and Celestial. I'll have to see if I can track down those screenshots and I'll be more than happy to post them here for you.
That's fine and dandy but you are calling ME out.
As for TheOne we have an EXTREMELY close eye on them and have already banned a number of their population (including leaders)and will continue to do so as we have several other large clans. So...
And once again, we have firm proof that NO GM summoned any raid bosses that can drop loot. And the one that was summoned was despawned by the GM and was NO WHERE NEAR being killed. The mob was spawned so that we could capture evidence that there was a major bug with it.
If you have screens to the contrary I would love to see them (preferably screens of the actual event happening not hearsay. So far the combat, chat and GM logs are against what you are saying).
I am all for not liking the game or feeling let down by content or even being upset by the P2P->F2P change, we refunded several hundred thousand dollars to players that month. But please do have legitimate comments.
9 times out of 10 we try to correct any situation that we are made aware of. We have made many major strides since I took over leadership of the game. And I have and will continue to fight tooth and nail to correct wrongs and fix problems with the game, our service and our community.

I was in closed beta, I pre ordered the "retail" version and played it until they went F2P.
I came back in Jan. and ran 6 toons up to 110+ (Including 2 cath summoners and a viki).
This company is by far one of the worst I've had the displeasure of dealing with in my twelve years of MMO gaming. They lie, cheat their player base, and do whatever they need to in order to make a quick $.
K2 and Funcom should work together.
*Edit*
Neume, did you go to the Erling Ellingson school of spin?
Please explain this statement. In my time here I have never lied or cheated the playerbase. In fact on a daily basis we compensate players who feel cheated or confused by events/promotions or updates.
I don't have to try and 'spin' anything because I don't run around telling gross lies or exagerations. I try to stick to what is true and qualify statements when needed if it is too soon to tell.
In your opinion, what kind of gamer are you?
