    • Ill just say id really like to see more at this time, i know that its still early and theres much to see so before i go off sounding like im flaming the game i just say id like to see some more over time til release what this game will truly be.

If i were to go off from the current videos and such right now and aside from last i heard of not being able to distribute in america yet, Id say ppl keep waiting cos this game isnt it yet. Honestly id have to say  that the videos arent really that impressive from any real angle just shows their potential of what they are trying to accomplish. I will applaud them for this atleast . For me im not all about graphics but that piece of candy im looking has to look enticing for me to open and indulge on my sweet tooth i didnt see any real solid animations and as someone said just a bunch of weak looking PVP. These animations are extremely weak and old school, the spell casting didnt make me feel what they were trying to accomplish im sure. Not flaming just my opinion.

Good Points is that they are showing some innovation and they are showing someone somwhere that they are not Vaporware and really do have something. Ive never been a fanboi or anything of this game but i have been following it since i was 23 [31 now]  so it was nice to FINALLY see something more and they are trying for something different. To end this i just say lets hope this isnt the extent of this game graphically or gameplay wise cos if it is then yes this game will fail coming out the box.

    • General: NCsoft Layoffs
    • This is sad no doubt cos it seems NCsoft was doing so well especially given theyre bout ot start producing some console games.  i personally think the whole DR thing has to deal w/ probably lack of interests in the game itself. When i heard the "box" edition was being sold i went ot my local gamestop, they told me the closest store that was selling it was in another state. I wanted ot see what a F2p games box looked like and what was so big about it, didnt actually plan on buying it.

As for tabula Rasa really hard to say the future of that game but id say its definitely walking the line right now and the way they look at it is probably " We have better games on the way" though im seeing a port to the PS3 for this game for some reason in the near future to help try to recover the loss on the game itself.

i remember reading somewhere on the net recently that they were in a financial bind with all the upcoming projects planned but are looking to remake that money back when the new ones are released. Seems they had ot do some cutting the corners to truly achieve their next mark

    • A GM cybers with a player.
    • This post made my afternoon.   TBH its one of the funniest things i ve read in a while. To both parties they were wrong but as many stated the GM is the most wrong for his / her actions and he clearly knew it when he asked  "you are 18"  for all he knew that person could have been 14  / 15 and cybering with that age is a crime boy or gurl.   As an official representative of that company  he never should have allowed this to  happened, for all he knew this could have been a test from the company itself being recorded ... bad decision making. He should be penalized and the player as well.

Now on another note this is exactly what they need. First it comes with a mature rating so this may not blow up at all, and secondly even bad publicity could be good publicity. Think about it , the game is considered too mature so parents stop letting their teens that shouldnt be playing and are doing the most whining stop .. this keeps only the most  mature players and ppl whos parent s dont care.  The ppl they wanted in first place so they could have naked bodies and a game full of gore. If they wanted to they could try to throw these things into the game and allow such acts .. and play off of the bad publicity itself.

But what they dont want is this to turn into a media fiascal cos they would have a field day with this especially w/  the really conservative ones. And lets not even talk bout what would happen if some government official heard of this ... i know that souds a bit far but remember right now the gaming industry and its values have been taking alot lately especially since that GT incident. And all it takes is for the right person to read the right post and make it more publicly known.

    • If We can Change Anime to MMO(Part I)
    • this would be an interesting concept but like many others have stated its a fad, well at least in someways.  I mean as new ones become available sure you would always have a fan base but ppl move on to the next big thing.

For instance lets take DBZ , that technically has been on US soil or a long time since ealry to mid 90's i remember waking up early to watch it on fox saturdays 530-630 am and they stopped right at the end of frieza saga, even then anime was said it wont last, though now its become very mainstream. Sadly the franchise is just now beginning to see a live action and a possible MMO, in some ways they waited to long and should have done it while dbz was hot or part of the marketing ploy as it was growing to its success here.

Now robotech / macross has a huge following as does gundham which has been airing since 79 originally so it covers alot of mech lovers thru the last 20 yrs, these i think would be rather successful for years to come. As we step closer to this in realistic senses.

Of the new ones like One piece, that would make an interesting one no doubt, and im sure some would even add Avatar to that.

My suggestion would be NINJA SCROLL,  I know it sounds a bit crazy but it could definitely work including bringing raids and seiges as well as possible RvR  [long shot on RvR but still]. u can have freelance side[jubei], a government side [ could serve as NPC faction] and the Devils of Kimone and the Shogun of the Dark [chaos] and u could choose from those since Ninja scroll is a tale of deciet and intrigue. Territory control, poisoning your enemys water supply, etc. just some thoughts.

as i was finished w/ this part the next crazy thought actually crossed my mind and this is where the reply was suppose to end .. but then the thought made sense

I know i ll be flamed for this but the one im so surprised especially given the success over the years that hasnt been made into one is Poke'mon and is ideal to be able to be made into a sandbox MMO style game. I mean the whole idea is ot catch them all , and the idea of an MMO is to never allow u to truly finish a game and always have something to play for even after u finish the main story behind the game. And they continually add new pokemon regularly. Sounds like a win win situation to me plus Nintendo definitely has the money to back such a huge development. Pokemon pretty much held down the handheld market for nintendo for yrs. And i ll be flamed for this comment as well , of any ANIME available today,  Pokemon would garner the biggest return on an investment given the amount of time its been in the industry as well as its popularity.

Now dont get me wrong im not a fanboi of nintendo or pokemon but as far as discussion goes i thought it to be an entertaining thought.

    • Claus Grovdal, Creator of Darkfall and its Lead Designer/Producer and other Darkfall developers CV's.*Update Razorwax AS Bankrupt 2006
    • First Pol good post , and i think i understand what you were getting at by giving this information. Which i will say it caters to both the fanbois and the neigh sayers which is good cos ppl can draw their own opinion of it. Now ive never posted on Darkfall before cos i cant say i know enough NOW to get into a solid debate over it. I did follow the game though up until a few years ago, when i first heard about the game i was 23 and excited im 31 now and cant believe this game is still talked about.

what does bother me is this, aside from early notions and attracting the attention of the major gaming sites there hasnt been any new updates given by such places like IGN for instance in quite sometime. And is only really being shared internally.  Even their last in 2007 states they hadnt actually seen the game and before that was dec 2006 but nothing after. Did they declare the game vaporware i wonder. or just decide if it finally surfaces to be more reality they ll cover it.

Considerations  "We know staying visible enough to inspire credibility, confidence and community growth is no easy task, especially for teams with modest resources. Nonetheless, it would be comforting to have a better feel for how Darkfall is progressing and a deeper understanding of how its potentially interesting features will actually function. "  qoute from last ign article

now i know its better to lay low key w/ such a game of this magnitude for more than obvious reasons but you would think that a game like this would also recieve a lot more hype and intrigue from the gaming community sites as well as regular updates. Especially since its claiming to offer so much.

Another thing that kinda bothers me is what i read on their official boards recently and thats the fact that when released its only releasing in EU and no NA release announced cos they havent found someone for it. That to me is a caution or a red flag, why you ask?  NA  has the largest potential client base to gain from. Not to mention with War and AoC why wouldnt someone on NA soil want to put another competitor into the frey? I mean our entertainment media players buy just about anything and everything now a a day. Just a thought. I mean even if they didnt want to compete a publisher would just push back a NA release date.

Anyways i could personally care less one way or another now, if it comes out great good to see the small guy finally come up w/ something grand especially if they execute what they promise. I hope ppl really dont set the expectations too high.  If it never sees the light of day, hey thank you for the concept i hope one day someone knocks it down.
