    • I have to admit when this game was initially announced way back when and the game concepts & ideas were touted I was more than a little interested.

Over time my interest started to diminish due to lack of any released info and the preview videos and screenshots being trickled out looking worryingly dated.

Now however these recent shots are definitely looking a vast mprovement and the idea of towns having a different focus to cater for different player playstyles sounds awesome!

Mucho whining? - YOU BETTER BELIEVE IT - no one likes being forced into a PVP zone to complete PVE objectives purely to be lured into an area to provide gank fodder for other  players - BLIZZARD RETHINK THIS!

    • I have to agree with what other posters have already mentioned - the enthusiasm of the announcement was quite infectious and interest was starting to peak....right up to the mention of consoles.

From a purely practical point of view in order to provide a balanced playfield for both pc and console camps to play in - the interface has to be limited (read: crippled) to the capabilities of the lower specced device.  Consequently any interface features that could have been afforded to the sole domain of pc users surely cant be implemented for fear of introducing play-balancing issues against console owners.

Regarding group-play with everyone being a captain or designated a subordinate role within a ship. I doubt too many paying players are going to be happy with being 'ordered' around by some other player-captain ALL the time - perhaps as an option to those who like to group together against the odds.

I sure as hell want the freedom to go where I choose when I chose - not limited by the megolomania of some other player or team decision.

This had BETTER not turn out to be another killfest like EVE.

It also needs to include the ability to make progress through the ENTIRE game via SOLO and/or CO-OP play without any FORCED requirement on PVP or group play.

    • I think the real announcement is that they have done their feasibility studies and have already evaluated that there is sufficient demand to rent a location and put in place the networking infrastructure and support processes to sustain an ongoing presence in the area which is the biggest hurdle and one other companies dont have the guts to do. Scaling additional equipment for customer demand is a trivial matter.

It is up to local gamers to support their investment and at least try the game on these servers or it wont be long before they re-assess the ongoing expense vs customer utilization and pull the plug on the idea - so lets bring it to its knees!

Thanks EA for giving it a go!!!
