• • Are MMOs in trouble???

  • In my eyes the only MMORPG out there that actually exists is EVE, and that is because it is the only one that gives players true freedom. No classes, player owned space, etc. Most so called "mmo's" become boring because they are so artificial. They're more like single player games with minimal multiplayer features. A real MMO needs an economy and political atmosphere that are both player driven.

    If MMO's are indeed dying then it it most likely because MMO devs are so afraid of taking risks that they jsut use WoW as a template for their game. This worked for a few MMOs but after that it just got ridiculous. Games like AoC have started to incorpoerate EVEesque features but not enough to break away from the feeling that it is too artificial for anyone to have some meaningful fun.

• • Jesse Jackson says Barack Obama talks down to blacks

  • Translation: idiot reverend has problems with a president who encourages people to not become whitetrash (or...blacktrash?...*shrugs*). I have a lot of respect for this guy because of his stance on parenting. He is right when he says that kids should not encouraged to try to become rap stars. When a kid wants to become one he spends a lot less time at school and a lot more time on the streets trying to get some 'street cred' with his 'posse'. It's fucking disgusting.

    I also like Obama because he mroe or less told the African Americans that they can no longer use their past (e.g. slaves) as an excuse. Obama is, after all, living proof that black people can accomplish anything in American society now. All they need to do is work hard. Every time a left-wing politicion steps up I'm always afraid that he/she is yet another minion of political correctness. Obama has proved that he is not that by treating all races equally.
