      Thats the honesty form Mythic. .I like it. They will never lie in you face. At least you will know the truth - good or bad. Its ever better than lies. For compare check with WoW release: No pvp at all, lag, crashing instances, queues because of lowered player capacity limits etc. And there was tons of lies about world pvp,catapults and ballistas, etc. So much things I still do not see in WoW...

      What mean half of it content? They will not remove entire regions, just 4 Cities. I'm shure they have much more planning for the future implementation of WAR that have not been officially announced. This cities was just in the initial planning. Cutting half of the content mean to cut everything after lvl 20 or to cut half of the gameplay to remove everything after lvl 30... As they say its better to focus on polish existing content than release not polished cities. Its better to release additional cities a bit later after more ppls hit lvl cap.

      What do you define Sandbox as?  Sandbox, for me, is an open world where you can go or do anything.  Kind of live Oblivion, that seems to come to mind.  I don't know of any MMO that is "sandbox" except Vanguard and the original EQ, thats about as close as I can see.

      He was talking about it being linear, like follow the line, go here and here, no where else.

       

      Yes Elder Scroll series are excellent example of sandbox gameplay. In MMO typical sandbox that are well known are Ultima Online and EVE Online. Everquest is not typical sandbox but even the first step against it. The same is about Vanguard - lets say with sandbox elements. Sandbox gameplay is alternatives on RL sand fields where kids play - there is some engine that gives you basic functionality and its up to the players to model and gives some tasks and opurtunities. In short word: player build the world and entire game and gameplay. In such games different servers are quite different in contrast to Linear games where is almost no difference except the average progress on the server.

      As much of your gear is dropping as less you will participate in PvP. Thats why in most games gear drop depend of your PK status. This way not everyone is PK and also not so hardcore players continues to enjoy the game. Also full gear drop can lead to almost no PvP. Solution to this can be increased production of crafted  gear. This not so good because then the gear will have almost no value, so there will be lack of satisfaction from achieve gear.

      About item decay its the proper way to fight against flooded items market. Also this will increase the demand of crafted gear and good crafers at all. As good is the crafter as less max durability item must loose. The problem there will be with very rare and valuable items. Its not nice to know that you will loose him. Solution to this can be rare scrolls that decrease and even stop decaying of the items for period of time. Others very rare scrolls can even regen max durability. Such scrolls can be achieved through very rare drop through high end raids. So when your very rare artifact decay enought you set him on the central wall to the dragon trophy you have slain with him till you find a scroll to reimbue it.
