I played LOM since closed beta in 1999, then another closed beta, then another. I also paid to play, the game has a lot of fun in it.
The game is full of potential but after the LOM 2 GM scandal and the LOM 3 false starts, the US version was totally mishandled by the people managing it. NOT paying the developers is a good way to NOT HAVE updates and further delvelopment. IMHO the US version was just shy of being a (second , wait make that a third rate) Private server.
Watching the US version close down made me feel warm and fuzzy inside. Blaming the developer is like owning a Dodge ram which you don't maintain and drive the wheels off then complaining about American auto makers.
The drop rates were horrible, the game play unbalanced and cheaters were not just ignored but according to reliable sources (remember I am personal friends of some of those who were associated in the LOM 2 scandal) aided by accountable people.
I played two other legal versions of LOM 3 and they were managed professionally and were truly fun. When a select few decide to manipulate a game to their own advantage nothing good comes of it. true the game was a bit dated as far as more modern games go but it was a game many enjoyed and indeed still do...somewhere...
LOM USA you are not missed by true fans of LOM 3.
Too bad someone cannot offer a 1000$ bounty for the crooked GMs in the USA version.
How many hours per day do you play MMORPGs?
