    • Who Can Beat World of Warcraft ? ( Part I)
    • Four years have passed since World of Warcraft official launched in 2004. In four years, World of Warcraft has become the one of the most famous MMORPGs. The last numbers from Blizzard were in Jan 2008 stating that WOW has passed the 10 million mark. According to this 10 million mark, many players questioned wether WoW has peaked. ( Relevant: WoW May Face Serious Challenges Next  year?)

      2. Screen Quality

Age of Conan: Some DX10 features that are being used for Age of Conan.

"Funcom is proud to be one of the few developers who is tapping into this technology, and we look forward to showing you even more of DirectX 10. Some of the improvements visible in the videos and the screenshots are improved parallax mapping, better lighting and more advanced shadows technology."

World of Warcraft supports DirectX 9, but the screens of World of Warcraft is still satisfied most players.

Compared with World of Warcraft, Age of Conan is more bloody as an adult game.

      3. Combat System

Age of Conan is famous for its special combat system. Although World of Warcraft has a complete combat system, the basic operate still depends on mouse click. The combat system of AoC is more difficult.

Real Combat in Age of Conan

"Real Combat" is being touted by Funcom as a revolutionary approach to combat in online RPGs where the player is in direct control of the character's weapon strikes in real time. This multi-point melee and ranged combat system is purportedly easy-to-learn and is one of the prime attractions of the title. Allegedly, the "Real Combat" system will take the ritualized combat experience previously found in online RPGs in a new direction. For this system, Funcom has also added aspects such as formation combat, mounted combat, siege combat and hive combat.

      7.Guide

Guides in WoW is usually for raids. In World of Warcraft, Guild Ranks, Guild Tabards, Guild Chat, and Guild Banks is provided for guide members. Specially, the Guild Bank allows players with the appropriate permissions to store items and money for use by the rest of the guild. Permissions to withdraw and deposit money and items are controlled by the guild leader through the guild controls menu.

Age of Conan has an extensive guild system in the game. There will be certain requirements for founding a guild. In a guide, players can create entire cities and fill them with different kinds of buildings. There is also a town hall in each city that can be used as a gathering point or social hub or meeting hall, whatever your guild would like to do with it.

Thanks for reading all these :D lol

      4. Quests

Quests in WoW are tasks given to PCs by NPCs. The completion of quests provides many different rewards to the player, including reputation, experience, items, and gold. There are a variety of quests available, from single objective tasks to epic multi-step endeavors. Currently there are more than 2000 quests in World of Warcraft.

In Age of Conan, quests are an integral part of the game, though they are by no means the only way to develop your character and you will encounter many of them as you progress through Hyboria. The official staff said that "We've tried to avoid having quests be all about tasks that just involve killing things or delivering items. While these exist in the game, after all, killing things in awesome ways is a big reason to play there are numerous quests that take skill, strategy, and planning to complete. Many quests require interacting with both characters and the environment in order to be completed. Some also have puzzles built into them, and solving them can be quite tricky."

      5.PVP

In WoW, upon defeating another player of the opposite faction in player versus player combat the victor earns "Honor Points". All players also may choose to participate in the Battlegrounds, areas designed for multiplayer combat. In addition to honor points, the losing team in a Battleground receives one "mark of honor", while the winning team earns three marks. Honor Points and marks may be spent as currency to purchase various rewards like armor, weapons and mounts.

Age of Conan's PvP minigames are intended as "pick up and play" fun, something easy to get into solo or with a group of friends, a way to hop right into the action when you want something fast and furious, more akin to an FPS match than traditional MMOcombat.

age of conan's pvp minigames include:

      Capture the Skull
You will join one of two teams with the goal of capturing the opposing side's skull as many times as possible. They will, of course, not take kindly to this and will try to stop you.

      Team Annihilation
You will join one of two teams, with the goal being to kill as many players on the opposing team as you possibly can. Of course, they'll be trying to do the same to you.

      Massive PvP/Siege PvP
Head out to the Border Kingdom with your guild, or hire yourself out for pay, and wage epic battles for control of player-owned battlekeeps. There are a limited number of these battlekeeps on each server, meaning combat will be fast and furious, and the benefits of owning one mean guilds will fight tooth and nail to keep theirs (or take away someone else's!)

Meanwhile, another highly anticipated MMORPG came out. Age of Conan, which was launched may 20th in the US and May 23rd in Europe, has attracted much favorable attention to players. On June 6th, Funcom was proud to announce that Age of Conan will pass the astounding 1 milion copies shipped" milestone.

"Sales data shows that Age of Conan is the biggest MMO launch since World of Warcraft," says Funcom Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Morten Larssen. "The numbers are very promising, and we are very proud to be one of the fastest selling PC games ever in a launch month and the biggest simultaneous Europe/US MMO launch in history."

Compare Age of Conan with World of WarCraft, which is better? Read it, then feel free to leave a comment.

    • Silkroad online Legend III
    • one of the biggest player database is silkroad online and new update legend III

      here is from silkroad site:

There will be Legend III, Roc Mountain update on May 20th, 2008.

Legend III, Roc Mountain cannot be accessed by the current client.  Patch cannot be applied due to the massive capacity of the Legend III, Roc  Mountain, so users must install a new client to play the game after the weekly server inspection on May 20th, 2008..

Downloading the full client of Legend III, Roc Mountain on the opening date could drastically reduce the download speed due to the large amount of people downloading simultaneously. Thus we recommend our users to download the full client of Legend III, Roc Mountain in advance, which is currently available for download at the Downloads section(TORRENT) at our website , FileFront, Gamershell, Fileshack Download.com and Fileplanet.

Please note that the installation of Legend III, Roc Mountain will not be available before the weekly server inspection on May 20th, 2008.. Also users who have not installed the full client of Legend III, Roc Mountain will not be able to access the game after the weekly server inspection on May 20th, 2008

    • AoC is to WAR what EQ2 is to WoW
    • Would you trust my opinion on a PvP MMORPG? I can only advise you to take anything I say about PvP-centric games with a large grain of salt, because it is no secret that I don't like PvP. Thus my dislike of PvP could possibly prevent me from recognizing good PvP over bad PvP, because I'd always tend to prefer carebear PvP a la WoW  to any form of impact PvP. If you want an unbiased opinion about a PvP game, you're much better of reading the blog of somebody who really likes PvP. Keen and Graev for example. And Keen isn't happy about Age of Conan , and he doesn't like the graphics. Now that happens to be the same that I was thinking, but Keen is definitely the one to listen to here.

One interesting thought about AoC graphics is the parallel of the AoC / WAR situation to the EQ2 / WoW situation. Of course that is a simplification, EQ2 has other problems than just bleeding-edge tech graphics. But the basic truth that more existing PCs will be able to run WAR than can run AoC, just as more PCs back then could run WoW than EQ2, remains. I haven't played WAR yet, but I'm already pretty certain that WAR will sell a lot better than AoC, just by comparing WAR videos with AoC beta gameplay.

Keen also had a very good list on why I won't be playing on a PvP server in AoC:

Rez point camping - People would literally camp the rez points and gank people before they could load in. This NEEDS to be addressed. I spent 15 minutes trying to get away from the Stygian rez point.

Griefing Questers - Griefers wait until you initiate a conversation with a NPC then gank you while you're stuck in a quest dialog.

Everyone stealths - *facepalm* Much more annoying than I ever thought possible. Having a caster stealth up and drop a nuke on me is?? indescribably dumb.

Ganking - Level 80's can attack level 5's and camp their rez points. In OB today level 26's were camping level 20's. So stupid.

This is *exactly* the sort of PvP I hate to the bone: Ganking, griefing, corpse camping. If a game allows it, these activities will happen. I totally realize that WoW battleground PvP is repetitive and has no impact on the world whatsoever. But I have yet to see a PvP system that provides the impact while simultaneously preventing all possible abuses of PvP for griefing purposes.

If I wasn't bored to death waiting for WAR and the next WoW expansion, I wouldn't even try Age of Conan. Kudos to Funcom , the one thing they got right about Age of Conan is the release date, which is spot on. But when WAR and WotLK come out, I predict AoC will take a big hit

    • Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures Goes Gold
    • One of the most highly anticipated MMO game in history is about to hit the store shelves, and the gates to the world of the mighty barbarian will soon be open to the millions of gamers around the world.

"Even though it feels like this great adventure is coming to an end, it's really not at all. The launch is just the beginning" says Game Director/Producer Gaute Godager. "I believe we have created a game that will stand the test of time by its own accord, but we are already busy planning future features and expansions. We want to continue expanding Conan's world for many years to come, and we have great ideas on what to do!"

After years of development and testing Age of Conan is now finally ready for prime time! To prepare for launch, tens of thousands of players have tested the beta  enabling Funcom to polish the game prior to going live. While the game gets closer to release the anticipation for the title is also building steadily. Just last week 475.000 unique visitors went to the official Age of Conan websites, and the pre-order numbers in some important retail chains track as among the highest for any MMO launched.

"Age of Conan has been in development for a long time, as with all MMOs, but we have spent that time well and ended up with a game we are incredibly proud of," says Funcom CEO Trond Arne Aas. "Creating a game of such epic proportions is an ambitious and challenging task, but we believe we have truly succeeded in realizing the vision of the game. We simply can't wait to let the players in and let them experience the amazing adventures we have created.

Age of Conan is consistently mentioned as one of the most anticipated PC games in development. At launch the game will have received more than thirty covers on high-profile gaming magazines across the globe and more than fifteen major awards, including numerous "Best MMO of E3" awards and the official "Best Online Game" award at the Games Convention 2007. Age of Conan is a key title in Microsoft's Games for Windows line-up, and a showcase title for nVidia. Age of Conan launches 20th of May in North America / Oceania and 23rd of May in Europe
