I think what folk are saying is that LotR has earned alot of its subscriber's confidence. Yes this new patch didn't go as planned, but with all the work and effort the devs have put into every other patch, its easy to look past this one, at least that's how it is for me.
To the OP, obviously you're still feeling the after effects of Conan.
Because I work during peak playing hours, I solo alot. And I have a lvl 50 and 2 lvl 47s so its very solo friendly.
Don't get to do the Raids and I may never finish some of the longer Instances (Fornost) again, but it's a great game imo.

Never played WoW, so I can't comment on it, but I would say that LotR is about 90% open world, there are some instances in it, but it's limited.
How do you feel about advertising inside games?
