The problem with gear is not whether it adds a lot to your character's power in pvp, but how easily acessible that gear is, and how much differfence there is between easily attainable, and rare gear. In DAOC you could get cheap player made gear that was very close to the effectiveness of the best gear. If WAR does the same thing, ie, gear you can get through public quests, is near as good the best gear in the game, then gear will not be a huge factor in pvp.
I predict the thing that will make people overpowered in pvp, more than gear, is skill unlocks, like extra moral abilites and stuff from teh TOK, and skills gained from renown ranks.
First pc will be ok. If anything upgrade ram.
Second should work, but the ram and vid card a little lacking. If you don't care about lowish specs, you should be fine otherwise, might think about upgrading those.
To everyone who had doubts about the game, QQ. The hype speaks for itself--this game will be the WoW killer!
I'd be very happy if the game was less economy/item centric than most MMOS. Who wants to have to spend hours and hours using a virtual ebay, or grinding to get game cash? I wouldn't mind if the economy amounted to barter between the trade skill potions and talismans, and the gear was all no drop.
Just because something is a benefit of the CE it doesn't mean it can't be a benefit for a normal preorder as well. I never remember it being stated that open beta and head start were benefits exclusive to the CE, even if that's what everyone thought was the case.
