    • LFG - advice on a female friendly game
    • Now this is completely depending on what your 'lady friend' enjoys and you of course but i would recommend having a look at EVE, i know there isn't a huge amount of females playing but i know a few that are really into it. one of my first corporations (guilds) i joined the ceo's gf played as well and did a lot of work with the corp in management. It is a Sci-fi game so she might think its to impersonal.

It does have a steep learning curve, i won't deny that. but if she is intelligent or likes a challenge it could be worth it, and once you understand it more it doesn't have to be challenging or you can keep trying to expand, learn more, setting new challenges if you want to keep it challenging. To me its fun, others might think its to much work.

There is heaps to do apart from PVP (though PVP is my favorite times) from trading, manufacturing, mining or even working on running a corporation and expanding it. Its definatly better as a social game which she might like. In a good corp it can be really fun i think. It does have free trials so you could both give it a go and explore a bit to see if you might like it.

Just offering an option for you to consider. enjoy!

    • hey guys quick question
    • Yeah PVP is open but just from my experience i have never been killed by players in high sec (police enforced) space. (except when at war, which is only possible if you join a player corporation). and i've been playing for near 3 years now. spent over a year living in high sec. in my experience Its doesn't make you invulnerable but you either have to be stupid or unlucky to be killed in high sec space.

Now i live in low sec killing any players i can find, and been killed by others

There is a free trial if you to have a look.

    • Is this game for me?
    • No problem, i don't quite know what you mean by that? will missions be enough to keep you interested in the game as a whole? I don't think so, i don't mind missions and that was basically all i did for my first year of eve i didn't mind but obviously it does get boring, but they can be fun to start with and i had a bit of a goal just to see what i could do solo trying my different setups during missions.

Otherwise if you mean are mission enough to earn you enough isk to pvp or just play around, easily. once you get to lvl4s you can earn pretty decent isk, it won't get you all the fancy and expensive faction stuff without weeks of missions but will be enough to fit t2 cruisers and even bs's with a couple of hours a week on missions.

now the economy is very diverse and can be interesting if your into that kind of thing, at one point i did earn a decent amount of isk just buying items people didn't use a turn them to minerals and selling again. also did a bit of trading, buying from Jita (main trading hub) and flying to a minor hub and selling for more. it was interesting to see what i could sell and is very dynamic. i found i just prefer blowing up all those modules and ships

      EVE Online
    • Look for FFA PvP
    • Been an EVE player for near 3 years now, that would be my recommendation, Its a near fully open PVP system. You can shoot anyone you want in low sec. declare war on corporations in high sec and fight them anywhere, suicide gank random players in highsec if they have high value cargo with weak tanks.

There is limitations of what you can get away with. I'm a fully fledged pirate and love it, sometimes i get outnumbered or outgunned other times i find noobs ratting or just plan better against someone i saw and chased down. I certainly recommend find a player corporation (clan) or even just some random ingame friends to fly with, though not necessary, others defiantly help and also allows you to target larger and more valuable players with a chance of success.

Well theres my recommendation some like EVE others think its boring, though to me its the only game i still get a real adrenaline rush when fighting unknown players especially if outnumbered or trying hit and run before reinforcements arrive. there is a free trial you can have a go with. and if your ingame i'm happy to offer and tips or hints, my ingame char is fishy418.

    • Is this game for me?
    • Hi, I though been an EVE player for like 3 years now i'll post my thoughts for you.

      1. I would say yes you can play at a casual pace and enjoy most of what everyone else does. the real time skill system helps with this, Isk (game money) is the only thing you can get more of if your on more, but if you want to carebare most of the time then it shouldn't be a problem. join a player corp in highsec with similiar interests would be the best way to go.

      2. With pvping it is risky and can cost you but the great thing about EVE is that new players generally dont risk as much and can still be very useful in small gangs. I been pvping for nearly 2 years, never looked back even though for my first year I only carbared\mission ran in high sec avoiding all pvp.

      3. It definatly can be an overwhelming game especially if you try it by yourself. though i would say if you take the trial by the time the 14days is up you should have an idea of how complex and interesting it can be. though it can still take months more to fully understand just some aspects of the game. This is what i love about it, others may say this is why the game is boring.

Generally these days i generally play about 3 days during the week only about 2 hours each day, and sometimes a lot on the weekends or sometimes don't touch it on the weekend.

hope this was useful if you want any more info you can ask again or ingame my char is fishy418. happy to help answer anymore questions. i would definately recommend giving the trial a go and work it out from there.
