• • Is this game actuly fun?

  • I'm level 76 and I can tell you that I'm having a great time.  I highly highly recommend getting into a guild and preferably one with a ventrilo server or teamspeak.  Once you get into a guild with hopefully high enough numbers then you can group for whatever you want if that is what you wish.  I think it's pretty hard to group otherwise unless your doing grind groups. 

    Dungeons aren't THAT amazing, but they still are fun because it is challenging.  Some dungeons even drop good items on a descent basis.  I remember going through one dungeon and I had particle effects turned off and apparently there was poison gas in the air and i couldnt see it and yeah....needless to say i died, but that was pretty cool if you ask me. 

    But there is a lot of solo content until you hit 50's (which doesn't take long compared to almost every other MMORPG).  once you hit 50's it gets harder to solo and at the very least it's more efficient to be in a group. 

    Once again, I highly recommend getting in a descent guild with good numbers and if they aren't solid high numbers then they better be really good people. 

    FYI i am also on FFA server which makes pvping more f un imho.

    My rig is nothing special at all and is rather outdated (1600XT 512MB, Intel Duo Core 2.1GHZ, 2GB RAM) and I would assume some of the crashes are due to my low end configuration I'm sure, but my one friend has a 8800 GT OC 512, AMD 4800, and 2 or 3 GB of RAM.  He crashes almost if not just as much as I do with that config.  Then I have another friend that has a 8800 GT OC 512 MB, AMD 6000, 2 or 3GB of RAM and he crashes at least once or twice per 2-4 hour playing session. 

    I'll bet they all have only 2GB RAM though as I don't think any of them run Vista.  Maybe if we all did run Vista the game would work. 

    There are also known memory leaks in game last time I checked as well that might hav something to do with it i guess.

  • I say wait a little while longer as the bugs are getting worse and worse right now with each patch.  Patching seems to be working counter-productively at this point, but hopefully they will release a miracle patch next week that fixes everything.  I say wait at least a week or two before getting it unless you are a slow leveler then you shouldn't have any problems. 

     

    Levels 1-20 is really fun and is almost 100% free of bugs and that will take about 4-10 hours depending on what class you are and how intelligently you play the game.  Like they said, "combat is easy to pick up, but difficult to master".

  • I honestly feel like that's what it takes to really enjoy this game - a good guild.  If you can get into an active guild (preferably with a vent or TS) then i think you are set for a good long while in this game and you're geared to have a lot of fun.  I am level 75 now and I shall see how this high level end content plays out though as I don't hear very many good things. 

    I am enjoying the game as well and I don't know if i would be enjoying it as much if it wasn't for my guild Venom on Stormrage server.  Good people can go a long way.
