I would say that it all depends on how active you are going to be in the end-game. If you are more of a casual minded player, go ahead and roll a SK. If you are looking to get into a hardcore raiding guild, then roll something else.
In my casual guild, two of our best tanks both play SKs, so it can be done and done very well with SKs. However, with that said, hardcore raiding guilds are going to already have their well equipped and played very well tanks, so you will have trouble finding a spot.

If a developer has stolen from a guild bank or asked for RL sexual favors than this would be something I would definitely have an issue about. However, these claims dont pass the smell test for me. Consider- developers have many tools for manipulating the data (any piece of data, literally) within the game. Why would a developer 'steal' from an in-game guild bank when he could literally use tools to remove the items without any trace at all. Thats stupid behavior and it doesnt pass muster.
My opinion, is that this all a bunch of crap from an overly dramatic website that relishes in conspiracy theories. Further, I think that these people on eq2flames feel jilted because some developers play with certain guilds. If they were on that guild, then you wouldnt hear a peep out of them. And further for the admin to post any personal information about the developers is tantamount to thowing a virtual temper tantrum. These children need to grow up. The moderator of eq2flames (LFG) needs to really stop the drama and stop throwing hissy fits all the time when he doesnt get his way.
It was before he became a Dev, and that is why is surfaced after his original game names became linked to his current Dev name.
And while what you say can be true, the evidence presented in the posts that I read through over there, and the attitudes of the people associated with the accussed (like NPU posters) in my opinion seem to give some of these claims some legs.
While EQ2Flames can be quite bad at times, the "outing" threads over there do offer some rather covincing evidence of the transgressions to back up the circumstantial claims.
Additionally, the corruption list doesn't stop at giving privledged information to live server guilds, and maintaining suspect relations with those guilds.
It's been pointed out that one Dev before being hired as a Dev was apparently involved in the theft of an entire guild bank. (old forum posts are available to read, and now that the Devs characters name is known, it pretty much points right to him)
And a Dev has been accused of trading in-game favors for RL sexual favors. (pure vitirol really at this point)
In your opinion, what kind of gamer are you?
