  • Really? they were there when i used to play and that was pre-Kunark.

     

    You have to say a few key words to your guild master and you get a recipe and told what ingredients you need to combine to get your armour piece.

  • It depends what you are after really.

     

    I returned to EQ about a few weeks ago reminicing of all the good times i had in EQ's peak.

     

    I used to play casual even back then, so was quite happy spending most of my time solo levelling (which of course, took ages). If you want to play the game on easy mode then stay in the starting area and follow the path they set you. You can level really fast that way. This however didnt appeal to me, so straight away i exited the starting area and went to Greater Faydark to follow the old way of levelling, which is still the same.

     

    Im loving it, i started fresh and im currently killing orcs on Orc hill looking forward to entering Clan Crushbone again. Saving my CB Belts for hand-in later on. Im doing my Ranger armor quests (which i had to write notes to remember the ingredients). I think what i like the most is that its not a game that holds your had all the way through like all MMO's ive played since EQ. Fighting an even level mob is not an easy 4 hit and he's dead fight.

    Grouping is not the same though, i used to join the odd PuG here and there, and thats not really possible now. But for the Solo'er like me its great!!!

  • For those people who think it is impossible to come back to EQ because its too old to enjoy anymore, i have to disagree.

     

    I returned to EQ about 3 weeks ago after a long break. Ive played countless MMO's since then, and i have to say im cancelling all other MMO subscriptions and im going to give EQ my full attention again.

    I came back and im really enjoying it. Im really glad i didnt pay too much attention to the EQ flamers.

  • Hi All,

    I played EQ in the early days before the Luclin expansion came out, and like many people loved the game. I've since been playing every other mmo in existence. I noticed SOE had put some free time on my EQ account again, so decided to download the up to date client and give it a try.

     

    Im having fun so far, but wondered if there are any friendly, mature guilds recruiting on the Combine (Progression) server. Im not massively active, just looking for some fun in the game again.......

  • It will also depend on the processor you are looking to use... AMD/Intel?

     

    But for further knowledge, you will need to find a motherboard with PCI Express slot(s) i think you need a 16x for the 8800 gts.

    For the RAM its recommended you buy RAM in pairs, so for 2 gig you should have either 2 x 1gig modules or maybe 4 x 512mb modules, all of the same type. Your board will take either DDR or DDR2 RAM modules, if you have the wrong type of RAM it wont fit on the board.
