I started my mmorpg'ing back in 2000 and muds before that.
I feel that adding No Trade , than Level Restrictions was the worst thing that ever happened to mmorpg's!! My wife agrees :)
We used to look forward to getting a high level item for our main characters soloing or duoing through dungeons , or even raiding. Now if we can't use it we don't even want it. At a point you get maxed out in gear and there is really nothing to do. Atleast before we could make money for the best of the best items for alts. It doesn't hurt anyone , except when high levels farm low level xp spots. There used to be camp rules though back in the day. Now people just run in and take other peoples kills by hitting it first. It's not like it's real life economy !! They are Games, meant to be fun and not restrictive. How can a level make it possible to put on a hat. I can wear the same hat when i'm a baby as when i'm 90 years old. Yes i won't gain stats in real life :) but i can put on the hat and gain all the coolness at any age.
There are level restrictions and BOP items because of 2% of the population of Everquest Cried out of PURE JEALOUSY!! That's it.
It hurts noone if someone else regens faster or hits faster at lvl 5 who cares. It's all out of Jealousy.
I really hope a major MMorpg comes out with No Restrictions on Equipment. Like warhammer or Aoc should of done. If there weren't level restrictions i'd still be playing EQ or Wow. As of now i'm in limbo playing Vanguard waiting and waiting for a great game to come out.
Original EQ Destroys all! God i wish i had a time machine i'd live in the year 2000 forever just to play the best game. pre-ruined.
Sorry for rambling , but i've been mad about level and no trade items for 7 years and 2months.
Mmorpg'er 6 hours a day average for 8 years! Met my wife online and she agrees with every word i said in this paragraph.
