Nvidia users, use Nvidia Control panel to increase the gamma of your desktop settings.  Carries over into the game.  Right click your desktop to open the panel.

Ati Users.  Catalyst Control Center does the same thing.  IF you're cool you won't have CCC installed and instead will be using Ray Adam's ATI Tray Tool.  You can adjust the gamma through that tool as well.

If you can't figure those simple steps out because you have an American education or have eaten so much Top Ramen in your life that your brain has wormholes in it created by MSG poisoning, then please google Gammadjuster.  This is freeware that allows you to adjust gamma settings on the fly through the use of hotkeys in game.  Ctrl+alt+Numpad Plus raises, Ctrl+alt+Numpad Delete lowers.

Now go forth and play in the light.  Mythic should put something like this in eventually.  Until they do you can either cry about it more as they say, or suck it up and fix it yourself.  Be a man, grow a couple of nuts and use your god given intelligence to figure it out.  You are connected to the internet.  This does not mean you have to cry like an milk fed mewling puppy on a forum every time something goes wrong as you can simply just google the god damnable answers before you ask them almost 100% of the time.

*edit: If you're Destruction then disregard the mean and angry parts.  I assumed the people crying about this are playing Order so that is the tone I would like them to hear.

i could be wrong but i dont think that works unless you play in windowed mode. i have the same problem as the OP and i did what you described, but have to play the game in window mode or the game will not use the desktop gamma settings.

my MB is maxed out on ram unfortunately, but the game runs alright if it is not hitching or crashing to desktop, that is my main problem.

i am mainly wondering if it is my card that is making me hitch like that. sometimes when it does it the graphics glitch and you see all these weird purple lines.

also i have to play in windowed mode because everything is dark. my computer is like that in other games too, but there is usually a lighting option to turn the gama up.

    • warhammer help regarding my hardware
    • first things first, i know my computer is older than dirt and i need to get a new one. but for now i dont have the cash to do that, just upgrade.

that said i meet all the minimum requirements to play warhammer but the game hitches and lags really bad.

it also crashes to desktop sometimes, here are my specs.

      Processor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.53GHz
      Memory: 1024MB RAM
      Windows XP Home Edition
      ATI Radeon 9550 / X1050 Series

the only thing i am wondering is if i upgrade my graphics card, will this help a lot with the hitching and lag?

i am unable to upgrade the ram anymore due to my crappy MB. but if i can get a new graphics card and if it makes it more playable, i will.

BTW i need a AGP card, thats another thing that kind of sucks, at least until i get a new rig.

      any suggestions? :)

    • Just a fair warning for those who want polish
    • let me just say that if you compare new games to wow's current polish and expect war to be at that level....you are very ignorant and need to just hold your tongue next time you want to give a "review".

i played wow beta, and wow's open beta stage was not so much different than war's to be quite honest.

there were many bugs, it was not anywhere near as polished as it is now. if you really expect any mmorpg to be as polished at release as wow is 4 years in, you will never be happy.

just wait until its at least 6 months old before you play any mmorpg, dont even attempt to play one at release because you will be disappointed every time.

just go back to wow until next year and maybe war will be polished enough for you then.
