SWG just isn't the game it used to be and it makes it less fun for me for some reason. Even if it were completely free all the time, it wouldn't be fun.
I received this email but my account is not activated. I actually re-installed the game to try it out but my account status is closed (no active subscription). Oh well.
I never got in to L2 because it seemed like, from reading about it, that the PvP was the typical zerg style korean PvP and the leveling was grinding. Didn't seem like fun. Also, typical class system, nothing new.
...award system that sees top players awarded accomplishments and a daily .
A daily what? There was a space after daily like there was more to the thought, but it was never expressed.
As to the relevance of this article to this site, it was fine. While the site is "MMORPG" focused, it doesn't mean it has to be pigeon holed into only MMO's for articles. It's not like you launched forums for Call of Duty and the latest single player RPG. Get a grip folks.
IMO, this new system is a step in the right direction. Hard corps PvP should be in regard to competition, not ganking.
I have no problem with someone of high level killing me for being in the wrong place at the wrong time. I do have a problem with someone continually ganking me with no gain other than to ruin my fun. At least in this new system if someone decides to continually gank me there's risk involved for the ganker. As a gamer on a FFA PvP server, you really can't ask for much more than that.
