However, it bugs me to see players thinking that they are somehow "more elite gamers" because they are willing to put up with piss poor game design. Does anyone really want to go back to the days of human characters going blind at night, losing levels on death, or quest givers that don't even tell you what continent to look in (let alone what zone)? I know I sure was hell don't.
WoW is simpler than a many MMOs in some ways (the crafting comes to mind). But anyone that thinks the class designs, combat, and raid encounters are any simpler than an average class based MMO is completely deluded. Does anyone in their right mind really believe that a high level WoW Druid is a less complex character to master than an EQ Warrier or a DAoC bolt caster?
And "anyone can get to 70" in WoW is a stupid argument. You can solo your way to the cap in any level based MMO if you have the patience to. Just because it's boring as hell and takes 2000 hours to do does not make it "harder." It just makes it less likely that a sane employed human would choose to.
I have raided in both EQ2 and WoW. EQ2 was STUPIDLY simple and easy in raiding compared to WoW. Your delusional if you think the Moroes fight in Karazhan is an 'easy' or 'simple' fight. Yeah, after you have done it dozens of times and have the gear that can handle it, it does get easy, but so does everything else after repetition. EQ2 wasn't any harder to level in either, it was just more tedious, so I only made one character to max. It was just too boring to level again.

You know that you've been playing DDO to much when....
...you want the freedom of a game like World of Warcraft! Despite it being a Disney toon world on speed, and even thought you dislike it, as it’s a game geared towards 12 year olds and people with short attention spans, you still find yourself reactivating your old account.
Yeah, but no. I'm probably never going back to that game. While the raiding is argueably the best out there, the community is so bad it completely negates any positive side of the game. Not to mention the unbalanced classes.
I played WoW for 2 years before I quit, and having raided most of that time in guilds that DIDN'T have areas on farm status, raiding in WoW is tough. Before I quit I had done all of Blackwing Lair before the expansion came out, and after the expansion all of Kharazan before I quit.
Prince Malchezzar was fairly simple as far as some of the fights go in Khara, but everyone still needed to know exactly what they were doing, and be able to conserve their mana for an extended period of time.
Having also raided in DDO and EQ2 among others, WoW blows them out of the water in difficulty. Not to mention fights are actually somewhat fun for the DPS, unlike EQ2's snoozefest raids with some of the most uninspiried fights I've ever done.
