    • Why the hell are people like him even playing a MMORPG?

If you just want to play a game with your buddies and don't want other people to send you tells go play a multiplayer game and spare the rest of us these awful MMORPGs these companies and pinching off for us to play with.

The whole point of a MMORPG is that you are playing with other people, if other people bother you go play a single player game so we ALL can have more fun.  You can enjoy your own company and we can avoid dealing with antisocial insecure idiots - everybody wins!

Oh no! someone sent ME a tell and wanted ME to join their guild...how dare they treat ME as an individual and take an interest in ME.

Isn't that the point of a MMORPG?

Expressing yourself and telling your character's story?  But when somebody shows an interest these morons get all pissy and start being stupid.

GET THE HELL OUT OF THE GENRE YOU ARE RUINING IT FOR EVERYONE!

    • I remember seeing Dragon's Lair for the 1st time and being blown away by the graphics - lol.

There was also a table top arcade game that was 3 dimensional, sort of like the chess board in starwars not as good of coursei forget what it was called, but it was something special to see aswell.

yup, teabagging is both intelligent and creative. It's not the fact he made those things that is funny, it's how he presents them.

I didn't watch the whole thing - i skimmed it.  All I saw was a kid showing off the stuff he made and i got bored and started flipping forward.

I got bored because it was a video of a kid showing off the stuff he made and it really wasn't very interesting to me because I don't know the kid and I understand that he is just a kid and that kids do that sort of thing.

I don't hold children to the same standards that I hold adults and I give children a lot of credit because I understand that they are still developing.

I never understood the starwars kid phenomenon - all I saw was a kid acting like a kid.

Sorry fella, it's over my head and I just don't get it.

    • So Mythic is dropping stuff from WARs release now

Will all elements that they want in the game be in the game at launch?

Valve wanted to put an assault helicopter section in the original Half-Life and also include an AI sidekick for Gordon Freeman called.... Dog... (who then appeared in the sequel). Stop being so god damn thick.

Will they be using future development time and your sub money to add things that should of been in the game at launch?  I'm not talking about new content - I am talking about them added pieces into the game which are part of the original games concept. What MMO hasn't? For the love of.... Do you even know how much content is planned but then chucked out from lack of time before the game is released? Many asshat companies do so only without telling you. IE: Halo 1 was suppose to have a flamethrower, it was also suppose to have the mongoose as a drivable vehicle, hell it was even suppose to be set in a sandbox world, with full damage modelling and 64 player multiplayer. Stop arguing semantics and get a clue please. Halo went on to become one of the best console FPS of all time, and yes, people did have to dig out another 60 € just to see "some" of the features planned for the first game.

This game will be incomplete and therefor it is being pushed out early - in other words you will be paying to play a game which is still in beta. What MMO do YOU play?

Who says 24 classes is way too many?  Mythic says the 4 are cut because they are not fun or good to play in their current state. In the case of Blizzard, 9 classes with 3 talent trees WAS and IS too many. Play a holy/retribution paladin or a survival hunter or an arcane mage if you don't believe me, i'm sure you'll have LOTS of broken and tedious fun!

I hope this isn't directed at me because I suggest they wait till the game is 100% complete and polished.  You seem to want them to cut corners and give you the game now!  You're the instant gratification weenie in this forum so have a nice lol at your own expense.

BTW, it is not impossible all it would take is a little bit more time.  They are not running out of EA money so they must feel they are running out of time - why they feel that time is short only they can answer. Marketting and financing a project isn't just about wether you have money or you don't so save the stupid comments to yourself. If like any normal intelligent, and reasonable person you'd research the facts before whinging like a child.

1-) Mark Jacobs stated that another delay would adversly affect the community much, MUCH more than this announcement.

2-) Would you much rather they left the classes in and wasted X number of Man Years fixing, revamping, fixing and revamping classes  again and again? The list of changes , fixes , revamps and balancing additions to world of warcraft would fill the average library on it's own, most content patches also had the wonderful "new content" of a new iteration of Alterac Valley. oh! and 2 new repeatable quests!

3-)If you think that including broken classes into the game and "fixing" them later is a good idea, read the WOW forums. That's all i'll say.

Aside from dancing around my points and calling me names what is your point with this gibberish?

I understand cutting something because it isn't doable or it is overpowered or if you are limited by the technology that you or your consumers are working with.  Is that the case here?

Here are some of my favorites:

"Do you even know how much content is planned but then chucked out from lack of time before the game is released? Many asshat companies do so only without telling you."

They themselves set the time window in which the project will be started and released so they should be a lot more conservative so that they don't run out of time.  It's already a joke around here that a company will set a release date and we start adding a year or 2 onto it.  How is that we gamers have a better idea of when these people will be able to release their games?

"Halo went on to become one of the best console FPS of all time, and yes, people did have to dig out another 60 € just to see "some" of the features planned for the first game."

And JTSL was supposed to be in the original release of SWG but they made us pay for it in an expansion.  I should of left then but I was as naive then as you are now.  I've had my fill of this sorta crap but obviously you can stand a lot more.  That's right fella, I played SWG, so when I talk about paying to play a beta game and being jerked around by a company I have a doctorate in it.  I know exactly what I see because my eyes are open wide to it now.

"Marketting and financing a project isn't just about wether you have money or you don't so save the stupid comments to yourself."

The definition of financing is "providing the necessary capitol" so i'm pretty sure that is exactly about "whether you have money or you don't"  As far as marketing goes their fall 2008 release date was set in mud not stone - i guess it's in stone now...hmmm?

"Mark Jacobs stated that another delay would adversly affect the community much, MUCH more than this announcement."

I guess he deserves a humanitarian award for sparing us adverse effects while he picks our pocket by providing us with an unfinished game.  Sounds like a weak excuse to me since they don't even have a specific release date set.  Mythic set the pace in which this game was to be released and now they are blaming us for them releasing it early?  When i said"us"...I meant you!  You're to blame for them putting it out early because you're just not willing to wait until it is finished.  If you were like me you'd say to them "nah, it's okay don't release it early, take your time with it and do it right the first time" but no; you want the game now and want them to cut corners to give it to you.

I've read the WoW forums all I see is the typical "nerf them so I can beat them" crap I expect from gamers now you go read Raph Koster's reason why SWG failed.

    • Seriously, take a good look at this game.
    • It seems like it'll be a great game and give us players a lot of freedom that we currently don't have in MMORPGs.  If it is done the way they say it'll be a breath of fresh air.

It's just too soon to get really excited about the game.

Sorta like when your 5 year old makes a picture with his crayons - you're happy to see him so talented but it is a far cry from the Mona Lisa, maybe with time he'll be another Leonardo da Vinci but at this point in time it is too soon to start auctioning off his crayon doodles at 50,000,000 a picture.
