It seems pretty common...a bunch of people wanting others to play the way they want to play and saying that I should play a FPS or single player game since I solo.
First, I do group, and in fact I like to group...problem? I log out every 15-30 min to take a break. I also don't have a lot of time to group because I do other stuff besides sit on my chair 24/7 doing nothing but playing. I can sometimes plan to stay on longer if I decide to group for something, but usually I can't do that. I usually just stick to PvP at endgame since I can solo in PvP and if I want to group, I can do that to.
Okay, so why do I need to play a single player RPG if I solo a lot in a MMO? I've played RPGs from morrowind, to oblivion to countless others...they last 2-3 days and then I am utterly bored of them. No economy, no chatting with people and it gets really boring. I even tried a few final fantasy games and they only last 1-2 days usually. I find single player RPGs very boring compared to MMOs. Just because I solo doesn't mean I should not play a MMO just because people think grouping is how it should be. My first MMO was Asheron's Call, and I wasn't forced to group once...BUT I grouped plenty of times, I loved having that choice to either solo or group...and I could even get awesome items solo too if I wanted to, I wasn't forced to group to get the "Uber tiems".
And the multiplayer part of the "MMORPG" doesn't mean I need to group with others, I've played plenty multiplayer games (for example battlefield 2 and battlefield 2142) and I played a sniper and never "grouped" with anyone, I was on my own a lot of the time.
So why should I go play a single player RPG or some other genre (which I find they are boring compared to MMOs) just because I solo a lot in a MMORPG? And its not just RPGs, I've played FPS/RTS/Strategy games as well, and MMOs last A LOT longer for me than games in other genres.
Besides the 3 install limit and the SecuRom thing...how do you like Spore (if you have it)?
The worst part...if Mccain is elected, and he dies for whatever reason (he is old and presidents get tons of stress...so anything can happen) then palin would be president. Now that is scary.
I don't really like Obama either...but oh well
I'll buy spore even if it has limited installs...it is a pain, though but it isn't that big of a problem (not for me anyway). I am kinda dissapointed they went that route, but oh well.
In any case, I've been waiting since they released the Spore video on google videos...it sounds awesome
I did the tutorial. Thats all I need to see ...*immediately buys*
I'm not surprised that some kids are so bad teachers need guns.
When I was little and before I was born, parents could actually DISCIPLINE their kids...no I don't mean a lame time out or smack on the hand. But actual discipline, like a belt...something that hurt but didn't leave a lasting mark or seriously hurt the kid. That would teach the kid real quick.
And on the subject of schools...they are a waste of time. Especially after the no kid left behind BS came out. This should be easy to find, but on google video (I'm sure its on youtube as well) there was a video of a test taken both in denmark (boy, I hope I'm saying the right place...was up late last night and tired as heck) and the TOP school (I believe it was a highschool?) in the US. Both the exact same test. The students in denmark thought it was the easiest test they have done. The top us student didn't even come close to the worst denmark student. US couldn't care less about education anymore...I mean wtf is with the no student left behind? That just makes the smart students suffer and schools stupider. I went to a private school, but had to take some test at my local highschool (it was a 10th grade test, I did plenty of those at my private school) and it was the easiest test I had ever done since middleschool. My school I graduated from had much harder tests and school work. I never had to do homework either (except essays two or three times a month).
Anyway, I know not related to guns, but its related to schools. I guess it does relate because, as schools get dumber, kids get dumber and I do not want to know what happens when they become parents...but I don't blame the parents for kids bringing guns to schools. I'm a good example of that (no I never brought a gun to school or any weapon)...but I used to be beat up, teased and all kinds of stuff, even had my head dumepd into a dirty toilet one day. The teachers, principle did nothing. This was back in middleschool. Anyway, my parents (not many parents would do this, so I'm lucky) ended up contacting a lot of high up people and the school became under investigation (and my parents still get calls about it once in awhile). Too bad for them, they had to pay for my private school since they treated me like sh! I just laugh about it now because they were the ones that got PWNED. mid/late middleschool/Highschool was great for me, though...made tons of friends and learned more than I did in all my school years. Just had to go through some really hard times in my younger years at school...but that is over with.
Anyway, this all relates somehow...but I'm tired as heck, can't fall asleep because when I go to bed I become more awake (which is weird). So sorry if it seems like I'm rambling. I stayed up incredibly late last night with my friend...so yeah...
What characteristics of an MMORPG do you look at most?
