• • Why does AoC suck? it was designed for consoles...

  • Serious question here, but has anyone actually considered HOW you would play AoC on a controller? With up to five attack buttons (only 4 on the face of a controller) and the fact that you need to select the attack from one of your many, many hotbars before you initiate it, I don't see how it is going to be possible without hooking up a keyboard and mouse...

  • Yes, its a bad idea for a game to unthinkingly ban anyone and everyone that has a certain amount of gold or any other item without ever checking if it was earned legitimately.

    But, with that said, I'd also like to say that the chances of having 40g with just a little over a week into the game is pretty outrageous. I'd be rather suspicious of anyone in that position as well, regardless of whether or not they say they've been collecting money from other guild members.

    Chances are only an extremely small handful, probably less than 10 people, have been wrongfully banned this way. Anyone else is likely jumping on the bandwagon.

• • Quick Breakdown - My Take

  • Here's a quick rundown of how I'm feeling about Age of Conan.

    Pros:

    • Beautiful graphics.
    • Intuitive and fluid combat system.
    • Practically lag free and with (for me) very little performance issues.
    • Interesting classes that are often outside the norm.
    • The smoothest launch I've ever experienced.

    Cons:

    • Primitive GUI.
    • Massive account page issues (for me) with zero response from customer service.
    • Frequent icon or map disappearance.
    • Tons of areas of the game world that should be walkable but end up being an invisible barrier or impassable hill. (This is not a reference to a bottleneck zone, rather to trying to go over a small hill or obstacle.)
    • Monsters don't swim.
    • The loot is terrible and nearly non-existent (currently lvl 30).
    • Lack of information on abilities and stats.
    • Very few people PvPing on the PvE servers.
    • Bags/Inventory!
    • Traders non functioning.

     

    Generally I am really enjoying myself. None of the issues I am experiencing, other than my account woes, would prevent me from playing the game. Sure, the game has some issues that make it feel much older than it looks, but I can deal with them for now and hope that they'll be fixed soon.

  • Not only should do it for the loot and story, but it is also the easiest, quickest, and most effective way to level to 20 and get the hell out of Tortage.

    Sounds like you are on the wrong webpage if you are getting linked to AO.

     

    That sounds like the funcom.com site.
