I think many groups of people are going to take a second look at the USA, I mean if you guys can elect a minority, with hard turns from the road you were taking before.

I think you guys just got another try on the world stage.

Another try? Please, if the USA didn't exist the world wouldn't be too well off. This may sound arrogant, but there is truth in it.

As to making the "right" decision, that would have been McCain. Obama is the "left" decision, the way way way way way "left" decision.

I hope it all works out in the end though, I really do.

    • Why MMO gamers should Vote Obama and for Universal Healthcare /moved

Most, if not ALL MMO games have a Universal Healthcare component built into them. You get sick, die, fall unconscious, get poisoned, ailed in any way, and there is a robust system that is free to the player. POOF!! You're back on your feet, thanks to the state! Hibernia in Daoc had Healers scattered about their lands, presumibly on the King's dime. Sure, there is a small fee to keep people from abusing the system, but nothing that even the lowest couldn't afford. Heck, there was even a sliding scale on cost based on your wealth (level).

In wow there was no fee at all!! Just, Hey, we saved your soul, go back and get your body! Don't worry, Azeroth has taken care of the expense.

Do you think these life saving infrastructures are supplied by a third party coperation? I never saw a corperate logo on my healer.

When we're in the field and that nasty gobbie poked me with his poisoned stick, and languishing i call out for help. Most likely a wandering samarian will apply some salve, and without a second thought move on. Isn't this type of behavior what we all want and demand in our virtual lives? Why do we settle for companies raping our wallets, good samaritans don't exist,, or if they do, they send you a bill for $102k just to heal a wound.

So, logically, i see that if you play MMO's you can IDENTIFY with Universal Healthcare, and therefor would want to move our REAL lives into the same direction, and therefor would choose to vote obama; if only because his Health Care plan is step in the right direction.

Yes yes yes, i know, this is mostly in jest, but not totally. NO, i'm not for killing people just b/c i do it in game. No, i don't want to slaughter thousands of woodland creatures just to get better at it.

I'm merly commentting on how it is a social structure built into games that we don't even question or second guess. Yet it is something we DEMAND in game, but seem not to in RL.

I really do hope you are joking...

Using a video game to parallel a real life issue? Nope.

If only government run agencies were as efficient as those healers that magically make your wound go away for free. The fact is, it doesn't work like that; and if you think it does, then you are delusional.

And it may not cost you anything in game to get healed, but that's because all it takes is some lines of code to magically make your illness fade in game. In real life it takes tons of tax dollars and hard work from doctors to make your health problem go away, that is a pretty big difference.

Then Democrats had to come in to "fix" the mess.  Similar to now.

      Interesting Fact

      • Hoover was in power.
      • Hoover was the last Republican in the executive without a Nixon or a Bush.  Very scary, really.
      • Hoover was anti-regulation.
      • Bush simply had his friends "regulate" finance, whicn enabled shaddy operates and cards sharks in the system to dominate how we finance.

I have to congratulate you, your post made my day.

Please, open up a history book and read what really happened.

Hoover's actions after the stock market crash actually slowed the depression, whereas when FDR took office he only made the depression worse with his New Deal programs. It took WWII to pull us out. FDR might have made a decent war time president, but that is all; his New Deal program doesn't deserve the credit it gets.

It is not greed when they worked for it. It is rightfully theirs.

Yeah thats what Ebenezer Scrooge said.

That is hardly a good comeback.

      Why?

The government didn't tell Ebenezer Scrooge to donate the money, he kept the money he earned and donated it where he wanted to.

People should be able to do whatever they want with their money, if that includes donating money then great, but their money should not be taken from them to go towards funds they might not agree with.
