DC online had a lot of buzz and excitement so we're sending someone over to take care of that.....
...they've been talking about Hoth since before I quit the game many, many years ago. Since SOE (a company known for lauching broken, buggy products) hasn't put it out yet - well, it's just not looking very good.

who would want to work on the nge anyway.
what $OE needs to do is hire koster and the old devs back and give us back our pre-cu system.
It would be like boasting you were one of the people who started WW3.....
I've only read the first post.
- I hate the buff bots
- I hate having to buff each time before I can play the game
- I hate how there was no content
- I hate the lack of quests and dungeons
- I hate the ham bar because it was like managing 3 health bars and mind was sooo flawed.
- I hate how the only way you could progress was grinding
- Theres no diversity in weapon and armour choices.
Yeah - I'll give you all of this.
There was also Kash with lots of great quests and it didn't harm the seemless original game because it was a new planet.
From what I understand Kash was less of a planet in the Star Wars sense and more of a path you just walked from one end to the other.
Levels didn't have the same effect on SWG like it does with other mmorpgs because it doesn't change ur stats sooo much like other mmorpgs and just makes the PVE game easier to balance with quests and XP.
I've grown to really HATE level based games. I find them obnoxious.
They even stopped the Jedi force rank progression and started focusing on other professions for once like Smuggler :D lol.
I don't remember them "fixing" smuggler. It was just as worthless before the CU as it was after.
Though the CU had its problems and didn't put in quest progession yet I really think it was a flawed step in the right direction and wish'd now they stuck with it rather than the NGE.
I remember the CU being Sony's first attempt to remake SWG into a more "popular" game - in this case EverQuest 2. They banked on forced grouping.
Unfortunately for them, all I wanted to ever be was a Jedi and a new Jedi character was screwed under the CU. Your group members would give you visibility! That was a big kick to the groin after spending the hours and hours and HOURS grinding the stupid character.
I also hated that they changed the sounds of weapons, changed the way the shots looked on the weapons and completely changed how all the items in game worked. People who spent loads of time getting Mando armor and weapons logged in to find them all mediocre at best. It was another kick to the groin.
Yeah - I'll admit, changes were needed. But "fixed" things that weren't broken and left in all the stuff that everyone was bitching about....
Uh oh - I foresee an NGE Combat Upgrade if Spore is a hit!
