    • How to tell if I got into the Early Access????
    • Supposedly, a fee of 5 dollars is required for Early Access.  This could have been included with your pre-order maybe, so you might have early access, but I don't know.

I am in the same situation.  My launcher tells me that I am eligible for Early Access, but I'll have to wait for the servers to come up before I know for sure.  I have a feeling that we're not.  The client is probably the same for everyone, but those with a special Early Access key are going to be able to enter on the 17th.

Being optimistic, I'm hoping that Funcom has screw up yet again and mistakenly allowed all pre-orders, or maybe pre-order Collectors Ed. buyers to enter the Early Access . . .

One question, why isn't there any other playable races?  All "Three Races" look pretty much the same.  Worse part in OB was some mobs looked  like players or NPC to me.

Funcom wouldn't refund 5 dollars early access fee, if you try to contact them about it.  Customer service was very quickly, I got my answer in about 20 minutes.  That's a good sign.

I was crazy about the game at first, I ordered CE copy of game and even would pay extra for next-day delivery.  Now I think that I will put my money to good use, I will donate to Myanmar or China.  If anyone happens to cancel the game as well, maybe you could help others around the world.

For people who are lucky enough to finish downloading, Have Fun   I guess I will wait for Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning.

I feel your pain and I'll be right there with ya for Warhammer Online or I'll try Chronicles of Spellborn.  Funcom really had to impress me this time around after what I experience when playing AO.  Not only have they failed to impress, but they pretty much convinced me that avoiding AoC is the right thing to do now.

    • Early Access and Age of Conan: A Summation of Today's Threads
    • I'm sorry but there have been too many upsetting things going on with this game, I've decided to just cancel my pre-order and I'll skip this mmo.  I was very worried about it to begin with, I was there for Anarchy Online's launch, and I've seen the beta for AoC . . . now, the last straw was having purchased a pre-order for AoC months ago, and not being able to get early access to the game before launch.  That's kinda lame, and I hope it isn't a sign of things to come from Funcom for AoC players

    • System upgrade question
    • I bought a nice mid-range gaming PC that is fully upgradable and can be overclocked,   with an Intel Core 2 procesoor and dual nvidia 8800 GT's.  They are relatively inexpensive now, and will get the job done from what I've read.  For a hardcore gamer on a serious budget, that's about as good as it's gonna get for me without spending several thousands.

Maybe an upgrade to a 7950 Ultra would make some improvements over the 7600?  I don't know, but this card should be cheap now too.

    • System upgrade question
    • I just ordered a new system for AoC an other  high video/processor intensive games coming out soon.  I have always been using XP but I have Vista coming, so I am worried about that and really need to learn how to customize it (as the poster right before just mentioned some tips I will try to figure out to optimize my RAM).

Right now, what I am using is almost exactly like the OPs, and from my Open Beta experience, I think you will need to upgrade your video card, but I'm not sure how you will do that without a new motherboard, power supply, etc. because I think the next cards, like the nvidia 8 series, requires a motherboard that is drastically different.  I wanted to upgrade and looked into this a while ago and was sorry to learn that I couldn't go much higher than the nvidia 7800 video card without pretty much overhauling my system with other parts.

If you have the cash, AoC uses DX10 which would be nice.  I can't wait to see a game with DX10 graphics.

I don't like PvP combat.
I think it is the best part about MMORPG's.
I don't care either way.
