That seems to be the problem.
It's a public forum and the theme of it is Warhammer Online.... so obviously they'll be opinions from both sides.... however some people think that the forum is a place to only talk favourably about the game...There's always going to be good things and bad things about all games... it just comes down to people's opinions....
Anyway.... nothing wrong with liking or not liking the game...
I have absolutey no qualms about that... i actually did say (or meant to say at least) that you cant state your opinion either way but it befuddles me why people 'ARGUE' over self opinions...
sometimes people get my goat a little when they say ridiculous things but its seems a pro/negative post almost becomes like a war in its self...
both sides can be guilty of claiming opinions as truth, quoting ridiculous information as fact to prove something... but its basically got me bored to tears, sometimes i come to these forums to see what the 'playing' community are doing, thinking and what not but guess MMORPG's just a no mans land where every one needs to take a side...
God forbid I came to these forums looking for info on a build for my Warrior Priest lol... but i guess theres other places for that...
After reading anything on these forums anything positive or negative is disputed to the point it comes down to the famous 'fanboi' 'hater' 'troll' namecalling.
Are we no longer allowed to accept a game with its flaws? I like WAR... I find it enjoyable and fun, maybe its PvP light with a sprinkling of PvE and some nice innovations.
Do 'real' MMO players have to tear everything apart when EVERY game i have played has MANY flaws and i've yet to see this perfect MMO...
Every game is so tied in with its developers reputation that liking to play it makes me a lover of some corporation, in this case EA...
I used to find it funny how people would slag WoW just cause its WoW... it was the big one so therefore your credibility was somehow diminished for playing it... but then SoE are hated too, and its only cool to like Everquest before it released expansions or Ultima Onlime before EA ruined it... or EVE cause its hard... or whatever...
I think the whole Age of Conan/Funcom thing escalated things but its got to the point theres little reason to state that you like anything about any game anymore unless its on dedicated forums for the said game.
I've tried a lot of MMO's some i've liked (EQII, LOTRO, WoW, Vanguard) some i liked to begin (AoC) and some i couldn't see the fun in (SWG, PoTBS, TR, CoX, GW) but in every game there were people who loved each one of em for whatever reason and what gives me any right to think im better than any them.
So anyway whats wrong with liking a game?
i get this still during times of 4pm to 11pm and as i said try pulling out your power cord on the BT hub, leaving 30 secs, then reconnect... once all lights are on load up WAR... if still doesn't work check your firewall settings.
I've actually cancelled with BT as there internet has been nothing short of rubbish for the 18 months iv had it. Going to Virgin Media where i will get 20meg for less than BT's advertised 8meg... (only even got close to that in the early hours of morning...).

ITT: lots of fanboys who can not actually reason, communicate or see a different view for what it is; a different view. They can not comprehend anything beyond "LOL", "ROFL", "ur mother" and other meaningless meme drivel.
The OP expected/hoped for an MMORPG with options, wide areas and depth (like DAoC of old), instead what he saw was a MMOPVP (MMOFPS?) with strict and confined areas that 'process' you to the next stage, a game without depth as it's catering for the short attentionspan ADHD/instant gratification folks (which make up the most of the people on this planet, so Mythic chose their target audience just right).
He hoped for DaoC 2, he got Guildwars 5.
If you want to discuss it or prove him wrong that's fine, but if you're not able to come up with a coherent post you're just another incapable fanboy. Flame all you want.
Maybe that's what he wanted to say. However when you start off a thread with the words "Don't waste your money (trust me)", you imply quite a few things more than what you said. You imply that anyone playing this game is an idiot (because after all, you wasted money on the game). So why so surprised if people get defensive? It's just another person who thinks his opinion is better than that of the rest of the players, hence why everyone should listen to him. Why? Oh right, because he's a Veteran-Player and has played MMO's for ages and was in 1337 Guilds and whatnot.
Yeah right. ![]()
Nicely put... a lot of people think playing UO or EQ or even an MUD gives them the right to tells what we should want from a MMO... Since i started playing MMO's after hearing about WoW (yes, I played it, liked it and shall not be ashamed) from a fellow geek I have had 2 children since then, pretty much changes mywants and desires, i had given up on PvP and killing big bad bosses and then this came along and i've been doing both meaningfully since lvl 3-7.
As for graphics, i loved AoCs but took a lot of juice to play that normally and i lagged in cities. Vanguard was pretty but there was a lot of ugliness too it...
WAR is in my own opinion the chubby lass with the nice face and great personality that you might settle down with whereas AoC is the georgous one night stand that you had a great night with but next morning had your wallet and left you with an itchy undercarriage.
How did you discover MMORPG.COM?
