    • Why would I want to play Eve?

I played the game for a month, and what I found is if it weren't for the community I'd have quit the game after a week. But I didn't buy the game for a visual and pretty chat room, I bought the game for the game.

Also, being a family man my daughter couldn't make her own toon. Well she could but it was crippled if my toon was training. Which is a stupid way to do things but hey I'm sure CCP would rather bilk you out of more cash for a second account than be family friendly.

Wow, it took you an hour to make 10 jumps?  You must've been in a very slow ship and doing auto-pilot the whole time.  I'm not even sure some 40+ trips I've taken into 0.0 have taken that long, but I manually warp.  While being able to train more than one character on an account at a time would be nice, I doubt it's there simple so CCP can "blik you out of more cash."  Imagine being able to train a PVP character, a mining character, and an industrial character all at once.  You'd never have to rely on anybody else for fittings, ammo, fighting, any of that.

Could that be because Warhammer is in public beta while Darkfall is in closed internal alpha/beta?

Again you are comparing different products that are in different stages of their development cycle.

      And Aventurine isn't credible because .... ?

I can name a company that released a successful MMORPG straight off the bat without ANY gaming development history. CCP hf - the developers behind EVE Online.

Yadda, yadda, yadda, yadda. What are the vapourware trolls going to do after Darkfall reaches open beta I wonder? Oh, that's right! They'll join beta and claim to have been followers all along!

      Silly me.

Actually, judging on how bent on attacking Darkfall many of them are, they'll change their tune from "vaporware!" to "this game sucks!".  There won't be any pleasing them, even if people are playing beta.  I've given up trying to figure out why they come back day after day and continue spewing the same arguments over and over.  If, for some strange reason, you think it would be terrible if an unknown developer came onto the scene and made a name for itself, that's your opinion.  It's beyond me as to why that would be so wrong, but it's a valid opinion.  But I would love to know why threads like this are made day in and out.

At least it keeps this forum relatively active.

    • All right, well I found a solid answer elsewhere. Apparently you'll get the whole month charged by reactivating a Content ID, but when it comes to the initial 30 day period it's a solid block until 30 days have passed. You're then charged for the remainder of the month using some system to calculate the value of the days remaining. From then on it's the normal rates every first day of the month. Thanks for your help, guys.

    • All right, I've been pretty amped on getting going in FFXI lately, even if I lost my POL ID.  I bought the plain FFXI starter disc for two dollars, figuring I could wait until next month pick up the '08 collection for PC when it releases.

My question here, though, has to do with the way they treat the concept of a month in FFXI.  Say I were to activate my account's 30 days right now.  Would I get until the end of April or would the billing system kick in on April 1st and charge me for that month?
