Latest Blog Entry - Mmorpgs Reborn?
From my blog What happened? [ThriceShy]

Whats up? Today, this posting will be on the Rebirth Of Mmorpgs. Ok, maybe the subject is a little wierd, but who cares, my blog!

Well, first of all, has mmorpgs died? I think not, but some people say yes, and some people say no. Who to believe? Judge for yourself. When people say mmorpgs are dead, i automatically think world of warcraft, due to it's massive playerbase. Now, if a person says Runescape is gonna die, i'll sure as hell believe him/her! I personally think 2008 will be the year of Mmorpgs. Alot of new games are gonna be released, but there is always a chance of a flop. Everyone hopes that WAR, AOC, Aion, Etc will turn out great, but can we learn from the past? I hope so! If we don't learn from the past, what will mmorpgs turn into? More grindys? More repetiveness? I hope not, really for christ's sake, i really hope not. If these in-dev games, turn into flops, i swear, i'll lose all hope in mmorpgs. Mmorpgs have a long way to go, before they die off. Some people are coming up with new ideas, and some people are coming up with completely new ideas, which is great, With every new idea, there is always a concern, atleast i think so. I believe that concern to be, "Will it work?" People have to ask themselfs that, will it work? Will it flop, what will it do, to help this game, become popular. I think the community needs to be heard. The community plays the game, they know the game, some people play it too much *I regret nothing!* I mean, they do play the game, why not listen to them? Sometimes they know what needs to be done, sometimes they don't. But if they do, why not listen? Why not take their advice. I would. I hope they everyone takes a hint, and actually listens. You know, what i think should happen, at least one development company, should have "Dev Answer Blog" Where the community sends in questions, and weekly, they answer them, and honestly answer them. I mean, i've heard devs answer questions, and never deliver, it's not cool, when they promise one thing, and don't deliver, or deliver something else, that makes the game worse. If they make the game worse, why not reverse it and make it 10 times better? I would defiantly think they would, if they didn't they'd be complete morons. I wish for one day, i could sit down with the developers of an upcoming game, and just bomb them with questions that need to be answered, and i wouldn't leave till i got some answers, and then once i got them, i would wait for the day the game is released, and post them, and say "Here's what you promised, now deliver!" I would so do that, just to prove my point if they do it or not.
