he wants to know is this is a sandbox game?
What I ask has nothing to do with a sandbox game. I realize it is linear level based but I can handle all type of games so that is okay. I want to know if it is an actual world like EQ or WoW.
No.. Tiers are equal to uhmmm..., hmmm.. lemme see if i can find a comparrison. 1 tier is like 2 zones in WoW. There are 4 tiers(per pairing/race) and the 4th tier is like 2-3 tiers in size. The world is not seamless.
Also there you can travel by mount if you have 20 gold to buy a mount. And though as a closed beta tester for well over a year, I have never seen the mount upgrade(horseshoes etc.) maybe they will be implemented post release.

yea definitely a niche game, and the fans of DF wouldnt have it any other way. What makes these games great is the community and the fact that game is designed to appease a specific audience, so that audience is obviously going to love it.
WoW is a great game. It is. Sorry but it is. Is it my kind of game? I played it because it was fun and my guild needed a new game. Is it my kind of game? Nope. WoW is a game with a very low barrier of entry which business wise is insanely smart and they obviously know what they are doing. And some people want nothing more out of a MMO, and thats great for them.
But DF's feature list is just drooltastic for some of us. I personally love the sandboxy structure of EVE and played it for awhile, but im definitely more into the fantasy setting or at least being able to see my character and interact on a world rather than the sci-fi aspect. Minus SWG pre-nge...we played the hell out of that game and i miss it.
I'm with you and im in that small minority, but the problem with niche is msall minority. How many niche games have lived on? The prolbem with these games is that the community is so small, there is no funding, and the game eventually goes the way of the doe doe.
But then again, i guess UO is still going. I can't believe people still play it
I'm no fanboy nor a troll/hater, but I have followed it a little bit and was amped when i first heard about it...what...7-8 years ago?
Anyhow, any game that takes that long to release due to setback after set back can't be any good. I hope they prove the MMO market wrong though, although sadly it will be a niche game drawing a small crowd like SB did. I sure hopes its a better launch then SB too, not just cookie cutter areas all over the place with buggie mechanics.

I will suggest if you come from WOW then to try rogue in WAR because it'll make you feel more at home than the other classes. There is no rogue in WAR
yeah, there is no rogue and we now know not to take his opinion of war seriously.
There is no rogue, but both a witchhunter and witch elf have stealth and attacks that are like backstabs. So yes, there are rogue style classes.
I don't think anyone here thinks it will kill WoW.
But as a long time Wow player and a long time beta member of WAR, WAR is a breath of fresh air. PvP wise it blows WoW out of the water. In all honesty in the fantasy genre it blows any game out of the water to date. Other than lacking full loot like UO, best PvP game yet.
And to the OP, the capital cities were not taken out to push the game out sooner. They were taken out because it makes sense. There is NO way that there will be enough people fighting on all fronts to take 3 citites at a time.
